Pep to leave at the end of the season

Maresca would be a pretty uninspiring replacement. Thankfully, I think Pep will stay another season at least.
Uninspiring is sensible to me if I’m honest.

IMO the manager after Pep should be a ‘Pellegrini’ character. A safe pair of hands for a couple of seasons to serve as a transition between one big manager and another.

We all want to see Vinny manage City at some point but I don’t think it should be immediately after Pep.

I’m up for Maresca for a couple of seasons then see what’s happening with Vinny, maybe Gundo part of the back room staff too.

When Pep leaves it’ll be such a shock to the system there’s a high risk it all goes a bit ‘Moyes’, and we don’t want to risk burning a top target manager that way.

Funny that just before a massive cup final init. It’s like clockwork

If it was a british journalist I'd agree but I think Fabrizio has posted this to get everyone to stop talking about the controversy with him right now. Nothing to do with the final, he's come across info and posted it to change the opinion of him right now

There’s a lot of knobhead journalists out there but Jack Gaughan isn’t one of them.

Not everything is a conspiracy.

Exactly! We may not like the clubs choice but if they want Enzo then he is coming in and it will be Pep who has given the nod for him to follow as well.

He probably will be but I'm not sure Pep should be involved in the decision.

Appointing your own successor was a disaster for the rags and we need to learn from it, as the circumstances are quite similar.

VK's contract ends June 2029, and I expect we want him then. That would mean if we got a new manager this summer it'd be for 3 years - that feels an awkward length, as it's probably too long for an interim type manager, but too short for getting a top appointment.

If Pep stays another year or two, then perhaps things are a little different, but maybe Maresca is as good as we can hope for a short-term job.

If Le Arse win on Sunday and do a clean sweep I think we could be one of the many clubs banging on the door of Tony Pulis. Obviously a visionary of how the game would be played in the future and that future is here right now, if Le Arse succeed. Remember his Stoke team and their enlightening tactics on wet Wendesday nights, replicate that and you have a winner. Come on Khaldoon, you know it makes sense;-)

What's the new controversy with Romano? Did he submit a transfer request to Epstein island?

Why do i have the feeling that after the game at the weekend that Pep is going to announce he is leaving and Enzo is taking over.........
I think though both the unlikely, that the first part of your sentence is more likely than the second (Hopefully)

If Maresca comes our downturn will accelerate significantly

Nowhere near the level we need to successfully finish the rebuild

I don’t see it in Maresca. He also come across as a bit of a bell end

I think he’s under qualified for the role

Don't really get the hate for Maresca. Pep's assistant during the treble season is seemingly more useful experience than his time at Chelsea. That place is such a joke on and off the pitch, I don't think you can judge any manager there.

It's valid to say the jurys out on whether he can be a good manager, or good enough for this level but the club know him better than anyone and if they feel he's the man, so be it.

As fun as this discussion is we have to have perspective on the process, we won before pep came, not as much but the managers had shorter time frames to work in and the people in charge will make sure that the vein will continue after the man steps down, yes it wont be as incessant but lets not forget we won nowt last season and maybe we wont this season either and we have all survived, some havent survived as well as others but we have all got by and some of us have even had a laugh doing it. Yes pep is the best of that there is no doubt but city was here long before pep was and will be here long after and we will still support them come hell or high water.

In fairness, which managers have ever been as good as Pep? He's struggling now and recently, but overall, he's been phenomenal, maybe the best ever.
Pep has been the best ever in the prem, but because of his mediocre return (by elite standards) in the champions league, i don't think you can say he's been the best ever overall
