Arsenal (N) | League Cup Final | Post Match Thread

And can someone explain why Kepa was allowed to play with the ball for nearly a minute ? What happened to the 5 second rule ? Unbelievable the amount of shameful timewasting from minute 1 from arse , so so happy that football played the right way was the winner , more than you believe
That's only if he's got the ball in his hands. if the ball is on the ground, it's in play and there's nothing preventing the opposition challenging him. We chose tactically, not to engage

PSG, Bayern or possibly Madrid will stop them winning the CL. I'd predict they win the league and we do the domestic cup double.
They can only play one of PSG, Bayern or Madrid and tgst can only be if they reach the final. I wouldn't put it past liverpool to reach the final either.
arsenal are the best team on their side of the draw and I cannot see them not reaching the final.
It will be interesting to see how the Carabao defeat affects them.
I think the FA cup will go to the winner of our game with liverpool.
arernal look a tired team but have favourable Cup draws and may be far enough ahead in the league to hold on to their lead.

Yeah we got that Overground line from Euston to Wembley Central, the Lioness Line it's called, I was reading it's only been open since November 2024 so I don't think a lot know about it yet....it was so nice and quiet compared to getting the Metropolitan line to Wembley Park...I was thinking about using it on the way back and wished I had now as got stuck in the dreaded traffic light system on Wembley Way
Lioness Line was just re-branding, it's been about for a while. We always do it, as it drops you off a 5 minute walk from the Green Man.

A very steep 5 minute walk that is!

Let's face it - if Arse had gone on to win the Quadruple it would have been an insult to all those great footballing teams who had tried and failed in the past. City did football a big favour yesterday. Let's just hope we stop them winning the Treble as well. Same reason applies. They're not a patch on our Treble winning side, nor Ferguson's rags.
I don't fear playing this Arsenal side anywhere near like I used to dread playing some of Klopps dipperpool sides

I have to be honest, I went with little faith. Maybe I believed the arsenal hype…

I thought it was an incredibly poor first half from both sides but credit to Trafford early on with 3 good saves. Any one of those goes in and it was a different game.

Our performances have been way, way below what we are capable of for some time in my opinion, but the energy and desire shown in that second half was great to see! I have questioned Pep’s tactics all season, because I feel like we’ve made things more difficult for ourselves, but yesterday he got it right against Lego head, really good second half performance.

The collective excitement, relief and sense of achievement from our players and supporters was palpable. Fucking love it, it was well deserved. Even better that it was against those absolute cockends. That they’re likely to win the league this year and have gone deep in competitions seems mental if that’s how they play.

Tails up now blues, let’s keep that intensity.

This may be arrogance here but our job is to maintain a status quo until we find our next golden team. We saw off Liverpool's latest golden era whilst they did very little and we are currently seeing off Arsenal in their time. This is an experience that the majority of us are probably not used to, and that is making sure that if someone does wins something, it is because we have made a minor fuck up.

Had two arse fans next to me. Couple in their 60s. Never flinched or said a word when we scored and it erupted. I made them do the poznan ! It was beautiful
They disappeared with 10 to go that confirmed my thoughts
Leaving with 10 to go? Perhaps they were City fans and thought it was a home game. We play there often enough.

I didn’t see who was awarding the Cup to us but I did clock Rick Parry. He had a right sour look on his face when our lads were handed the winners medals. Anyone know why he would be so unhappy with us winning the Cup?
Former Dipper CEO and strongly suspected of leaking stuff to the press when UEFA decided to charge us with FFP breaches. If memory serves me correct the leaks stopped once he left UEFA and became chairman of the EFL, could all be coincidence I suppose.

I remember going fishing with my Dad and whenever he caught his first fish he would be over the moon and say thats it im in and the pressure is off. It's the same winning a cup. There are only 4 of them and we've got one so the season has been a success. Players grow in confidence, believe in their own abilitiy and more importantly become more hungry for more to want that feeling again and they can then relax more and become the experienced players for the generation coming behind them.

And for the club it keeps momentum over the years. So one year you might have a league cup, the next an fa cup, then a double, treble, one title, one league cup and then suddenly when you look back over a decade and theres been a long line of continued success and not just here and there. That success and winning mentality becomes your DNA and what you are known for and players want to join it and add to it.

Serial Winners MCFC!

Think the ref was just buzzing off him making a right cock of himself tbh.

An absolute leech who fulfilled his ambition working for the Dippers.
Cannot believe he is still involved in football at such a senior level.
Has the the charisma of Graham Kelly...

The entire team has changed in a year, from the remnants of a failing Treble winning/4inarow team, post KDB. To transform it into a side capable of winning cups again so quickly shows how good a manager Pep really is. We may run out of games for the title this year, or maybe not, but I'm enjoying watching our games again, we're on an upward trajectory with a very young team.
Although some don’t see it, it’s great to see this team coming together and understanding their role.

Like you say, to win a trophy so early is quite extraordinary, and although we may still see some dodgy football, the best far outweighs the worst.

He was the cult’s placeman in UEFA’s disciplinary committee and there to get the original charges in, with the full support of David Gill and the ex rag staff he brought in
Just before the charges were announced, Parry quit UEFA assuming the job was done. He was then parachuted into the EFL gig with the remit of forcing through the bent ‘Project Big Picture’ that the cult and the rags dreamed up between themselves
This led to his breathtaking interview where, with a straight face, he said “well they’re the two biggest clubs so it’s only right they should have more say and get more money than everyone else”
Thankfully, it was laughed out of town
How on earth the EFL clubs haven’t destroyed, sacked and exposed this chinless, utterly corrupt Trojan Horse amazes me
In fact I’m stunned that no EFL fans have given the twat a long overdue battering
