I think Salah was a better player than Mahrez but they have very similar accomplishments to their name. Salah a better individual and unreal scoring record. Mahrez possibly a better team player.
Both have won Afcon, been African player of the year, PL titles, FA player of the year.
The PL have been fortunate to have seen both and their contributions to success at liverpool , leicester and ourselves.
FFS had the better first touch of the pair, possibly the best first touch ever in the PL.

I know that there will be no statistics for this, but Kevin's pressing ability was far greater than the falling pharaoh, which, in my opinion, makes KdB a much better all-round player than the Egyptian diver.
Yes, in this modern age where everything is micro analysed and statto'd to death, sometimes your own eyes tell you all you need to know.

Yea taa just ran his contract down. Salah agreed a new bumper contract, down tools, and quits with still a year left on his contract
He’s got a massive ego on him and spits his dummy out every time things don’t go his way.

He and Schlott obviously don’t get on and he’s downed tools this season.

It wouldn’t surprise me if he has a decent season in him next season if he can find another club that bows to his every whim and worships him.

Fantastic player. I don't think anyone could have seen coming - in his Chelsea and Fiorentina days - what he's produced in England since 2017. Slice it whichever way you want, 377 G/A in 435 apps for Liverpool is astonishing stuff from the wing. Always frightened me whenever we played them, especially at Anfield. I'm not gonna miss playing him.

But people tried warning Liverpool this time last year that giving him a massive new contract was going to come back and bite them on the arse - and here we are, 12 months later, with the massive new contract for Salah biting them on the arse. He's lost that explosiveness that made him so dangerous for years and he's lost it incredibly quickly.

God he loved a dive as well.

Still, an incredible footballer. He really was. At the peak of his powers he was unplayable. He dragged Liverpool to that title in 2025 basically on his own. Liverpool scored 86 goals in the PL last season season and Salah alone got 29 of them while assisting another 18 (37 G/A), which means he directly contributed to 43.1% of their goals.

It couldn't be sustained, though, and that's why they've dropped off so significantly this season. Hopefully their replacement for him is nowhere near his level. Thankfully there aren't many wingers of his former quality ready and available for them right now. I really hope this is the end of their era at the top table again, but we'll see.
Your maths is out

It would be funny as fuck seeing the piss boiling on miseryside if we signed him on a free in the summer

Mahrez won the AFCON in 2019 in Egypt. Salah has never won it.

I mean, in my opinion this is batshit.

You can make a case of him being a better Premier League great than CR7. CR7 only really came of age in his final two years before going to Madrid, where he ended up becoming the icon we know. Mo isn't a better footballing great but his body of work in the premier league is more substantial than CR7.

Saying he's a greater than Henry is silly though.

I wouldn't really put him above Aguero, if we're just talking forwards. Maybe not even Rooney.

One of the only players I feared over the last decade: he was brilliant.
The pundits will trot out superlatives galore, just as they always do for Liverpool and Manchester United heroes.
We have the trophies to know the truth.
Good luck to him for his future career (and earnings).

Why would Olise go from Bayern to scouse land and why would Bayern allow that

Release clause apparently so not much Bayern can do if it’s activated.

On why he’d go, good point but I wouldn’t be surprised. Everybody said the same about Wirtz.

BBC have a poll on whether Salah is the greatest premier league forward of all time. As of this morning, he's joint bottom of all the options.

Interestingly Haaland and Aguero are top two, so either some early rising blues or genuinely even opposition fans see the guff around this man. Great player, let down by his theatrics and enhanced penalty figures.
