I dont like the guy giving the lecture, he seems to like hating on America quite a bit, but he is accurate on a lot of things.

The main gist of the video though is that America would lose because of all the stuff we all (Except the American govn) know already.

Canadian-Chinese guy Jiang Xueqin - back in China so studiously avoiding what role China might play. Hard to fault his analysis (prediction) of the story so far.

The problem with Mearscheimer is that just like Galloway his position is basically that the West is always wrong and always going to lose. Rewind to Ukraine and he was blaming NATO for Ukraine being invaded as if it was a security concern when the fact is (a) Ukraine was never considered for NATO membership, (b) NATO has never started a war with Russia and (c) Putin had zero qualms admitting that his reasoning for the war was simply that in his ideology, Ukraine is Russian territory and always has been. JM's holds contradictory believes on this too, ie NATO is a paper tiger, and NATO is an existential threat to Russia - both can't be true. There's also a circular logic to it because even if Ukraine wanted to be in NATO, it was only to protect itself from Russian aggression, which Russia invading a non-NATO Ukraine only proved to be a valid position.

So as tempting as it is to agree with people like that when they end up on my side of the debate, I have to just discount anything they say because their positions aren't really grounded in reality. Broken clocks and all that.

He's also not a professor of anything. I watched one of his videos early on in this conflict but had to duck out when he kept referring to the GCC as the Gulf Coastal Cities/Countries instead of the Gulf Cooperation Council.

Maybe so but there are many senior military personnel in the US and the U.K. pretty much saying exactly the same thing.
 
Direct threats to civilian infrastructure like power plants and drinking water, from a sitting US president, would seem to be in direct contravention of the Hague and the Geneva conventions. Prior threats to do so also remove doubt about intent
 
Sadly I think we are on the precipice if WW3, uk government playing down fuel shortages but Tesco petrol station in chadderton has just shut over the next few weeks this will become more and more, it’s going to lead to chaos and this will be replicated around the world.

Isn’t Chadderton closed for scheduled maintenance?

Currently there’s no issue getting fuel but where there’s been a local stampede, it’s inevitable because they don’t have fuel on tap and have to wait for their next top-up.

As for WW3, we have been on the precipice for years with lots going on behind the scenes. Whether the world would give up their own to go full scale, is a very different matter.

As they say, Stay Calm and Carry On.

It won't be easy to find voluteers for that war there wont be many who be prepared to go to war for Trump, Netanyahu or Putin besides a few idiots from their respective countries id imagine.

Was watching a piece on YouTube about a lot of US forces becoming Conscientious Objectors due to not wanting to fight Israel’s war. Can’t blame them.
