Maresca would be our Moyes. Heck Moyes might be a better manger than Maresca. At least Moyes has demonstrated staying power in this league. The club better be thinking a lot bigger than Maresca.

Realistically though, the difference in their CVs is that Kompany played for City as a player, which has nothing to do with his managerial ability. If Maresca had 400 games for us then people would back him too. It's just a bad way of assessing future managers.

Agreed! Vinny done well in the championship but then struggled in the premier league and went to Bayern who let’s be honest have arguably the best squad in world football!?! Obviously you have to manage the personalities and egos but it’s a dream job isn’t it? Not putting Vinny down but some begging him here already is we would be getting closer to Burnley Vinny than Bayern Vinny? I could actually see the Girona manager given a crack to be honest

I wouldn’t judge Maresca’s stint at Chelsea too harshly, that club is a basket case, I don’t see anybody standing a chance there. Having said that he would still be underwhelming, I’d love Enrique to take over, failing that I’d test Villa’s resolve to keep Emery.
