Elliot Anderson | Opening bid rejected (p189)

Fern could do a lot more than just win it back. He'd chip in with goals and was a lot better on the ball than people give him credit for. He was a leader and a fighter on the pitch too, I'm not sure Anderson is.

Having said that Anderson does have talent... if he ends up at City being half the player fern was he'll have done well.

Unless Rodri ends up leaving I dont see the sense in shelling £80m or whatever unless its true that Nico G wants out this summer.
Again though, nothing from the player and all from the media and their wishful thinking.

Nico doesnt get picked because of Rodri, but when thinking future I put Nico G and he has shown good enough performances for me (our best games imo came with him starting).

Foden is in bad form, but early on, he was great in the left 8 role, and for multiple reasons (I talked about in his thread) its gone downhill.

But I will always back him to bounce back.

It was more to show there is a potential youthful quality set up with Anderson in.
I think we agree but we’re coming at it from different angles. Both for me are brilliant players but both have a lot to prove before being included in starting line ups

We’ve all watched Foden since he broke through and there’s no doubting his ability but there is a doubt about him mentality. Foden at his best grabs games by the scruff of the neck and plays the game to his rhythm. At the minute he seems tentative and not as fast over the first few yards as before.

Nico genuinely baffles me. He’s been brilliant when called upon and in the first third of the season was one of our best players. I really thought this year would be his break through year but then since January he’s been unused in almost every game. Hopefully we see him start tomorrow and stake a claim for a return to the starting line up in the league

Fernandinho could indeed pass the ball quite well and chip in with goals, he wasn’t just another De Jong type, but Anderson is a superior footballer on the ball than Fernandinho was.

Anderson next to Rodri would be superb. He’s a true box to box midfielder and has brilliant passing talent. The two of them with a Cherki or a firing Foden, just in front, would be the best midfield in the country.

£100m is worth it. He’s that good for me and still just 23.
I dont agree with that from what I've seen of Anderson - a technically good player yes - but 'superior' to one who played at the top level in Europe, City for going on 10 years and who had 50+ caps for Brazil?

Anderson could technically be a Championship player in a few weeks, of course he won't stay there but his team could well be relegated. He's unproven at the very top level.

He looks good in a struggling team - I do think he has talent and a bright future but £100m would be absurd, just like I thought it was for Rice and Grealish.

The media are building the chase for Anderson into a City vs United battle. One team will probably distance themselves from this in the coming weeks if they think the other side has an advantage. Most insiders say Anderson wants City but United are hanging in there - maybe hopeful if they offer £300k a week they’ll get their man. It could of course be United being used as click bait.

Anderson only follows one Manchester club on social media and it's us.

He was 10 years old when Aguero won us the league against QPR. All he's really seen is City dominate the rags

He gonna suit us perfectly in our newly discoverd 4222 system.

Donnaruma
Nunes
Khusanov
Guehi
NOR

Rodri
Anderson

Semenyo
Doku

Cherki
Haaland

Seems perfect
