Liverpool (H) - FA Cup | Post Match Thread

Looked at a couple of Dipper sites and they are now blaming todays defeat and poor season on the tragic loss of Jota , they really are the lowest form of life using a colleagues death for downing tools , if anything a tragic event should spur people on to bigger and better things and not to wallow in self pity.
Its a football club that has no morals , no respect and no balls.
Grief is an unpredictable emotion. It can affect people differently.
But, professional sports people should have the assistance to harness the grief, positively ?
I don't seem to remember Jota being that crucial to the team, on the pitch ?
Obviously, it was a very tragic event, but an experienced team (VVD & Salah are supposedly elite players) should be able to overcome this adversity.
Think that LFC and their fans, should not blame their shocking performances this season, on this...

The beast is back!!! What a performance today blues and another trip to Wembley to look forward to! In my opinion this is currently our best 11, no changes now Pep going into the business end of the season, please don’t be tempted to reinstate Dias either CTID

The best football we have played over the last two seasons, for that half hour or so…Promising stuff..

Half a billion spent in the last transfer window and royally fucked over today...!

YNWA .. no wonder salad is fucking off..

Big Verg, bestest defender in the werld la, never be dribbled past,,,, but let 4 in today..

Could quite easily have been more but obviously not his fault ' cos to be fair, he was pointing at where his dozy teammates should have been to save the day.. # stealing a living,)

Polish that shit show up in morning you media twats..

Yeah but City paid Mancini £1m in 2009, so it doesn’t count.

Great result but worried by Foden at the end, did a lap on his own whilst everyone else was celebrating down the south stand then walked off down the tunnel alone
Bothered me as well that. Not like Phil at all.

Ive been watching City since 1975.
Have we beat them 3 times in the same season before.
My 57 year old brain cant recall it if we have. CTID

Not since 1936-37

According to AI Theses are the occasions we played 3 or more times in one season

Prior to the current 2025–26 triple-win season, the two teams met three or more times in these campaigns:
  • 2020s: 2022–23 (4 times), 2021–22 (4), 2019–20 (3)
  • 2010s: 2017–18 (4), 2015–16 (3), 2011–12 (4)
  • 2000s: 2002–03 (3)
  • 1980s: 1981–82 (3), 1980–81 (4)
  • 1970s: 1978–79 (3), 1972–73 (3), 1970–71 (3)
  • 1960s: 1969–70 (3), 1965–66 (3)
  • 1950s: 1955–56 (3), 1953–54 (3)
  • 1940s: 1948–49 (3)

A friend of my friend is a dippers fan and was at the game today
He sent a video at about 10.50am (not sure why he was so early) which was sent on to me of a big pile of shite inside the turnstiles on the floor at the stadium.

Not sure who what or why…
Not sure if human or animal…

What turnstile did GPC use?

They crumbled after the first goal, that shows the lack of character and class. All that money for fuck all, tried to buy success and it hasn't worked, what a plastic shit show of a club
I'm sure the collapse is partly due to lack of character, but I think the main reason they capitulated is because they don't trust the managers tactics.
When a team collectively drop their heads there is a big issue with the buy-in to the strategic plan.
Slot is literally a chumps league defeat away from the sack.
As soon as PSG finish their season, he's history.
Then it's the dream team of Alonso and Slippy.... lol!

They were not thinking about him in the first few games of the season which they won.

Looked at the history section and could only see 2 matches against them in 1936/37?

So by my reckoning that was the first time ever we have beaten them 3 times in a season. Yet another record to go with all the others we set yesterday.

What in the world happened to this Liverpool team. Spent a small fortune and are way worse in every way from last year.

All that happened last season was their manager was lucky us and Arsenal dropped off from the two previous years and he still had enough of a well oiled machine that Klopp had left over, in terms of how they played. They knew their style of play inside out, so they capitalised on an easier run to the title.

Now he's tried to implement his own style and players and it's not worked.

I said before the season started that they're going to hugely miss Arnold and Robertson as their first choice full backs together. No matter what you think of them, they created a hell of a lot of chances and played that system well and made them a huge threat.

All that's been undone and now they look lost.
