Liverpool (H) - FA Cup | Post Match Thread

Brilliant victory, brilliant day. This team is evolving in terms of mindset and making the connections, and it's great to see the formation of potentially another big city side right before our eyes.

I did think the Cherki penalty was more blatant than the one he actually gave, be interesting to hear some explanations on that beside the 'not enough contact' waffle, because for me there was more contact on the first challenge.

Still, not moaning about officials if I don't have to. I think our biggest issue could be keeping a full squad happy beyond this season, as from goalie to striker we have options and we have in form players pushing others out.

All on Chelsea away now. Beat them and we can start talking about title chances in earnest. I wouldn't expect Arsenal to slip up at home to Bournemouth, but then again Iraloa isn't stupid and he'll know they and the crowd will be edgy, getting in front there, even keeping them out as long as possible, will work well in Bournemouth's favour.

Given the age of most of the team, I think this one will evolve into the best yet, there are still a few tweeks that will happen, but squad wise I think it's potential is huge, and I said this about October.

What a great game. I really enjoyed that. Top quality football and hopefully a sign of things to come over future years with our new team.

Salah is an absolute shadow of his former self! Looked mostly disinterested and plodding around like he was well past it.

Another monumental performance. Erling's all-round game - world class. Clearing corners out of our box like a top class CB, linking play and scoring a hat trick. Then got home, hesitated about watching Arsenal as I didn't want a blot on the day, but watched anyway. Southampton rounded off another great day.
Great summary of my day too :-)

Interesting take. I can’t see into the future but I agree that it has a lot of potential.

At the moment, I still think we have lost or are about to lose several players whose quality I am yet to be convinced has been matched. I am talking about Gundo, KDB, Mahrez, Bernardo, Stones & Walker; Ederson’s ability on the ball too.

However, we can still become the best team in Europe without being as good at the Treble winners, which is more important than comparisons to Centurions or Treble winners. Mind you, if you are proved correct, what a treat is in store for us.

What City do have is a lot of young or youngish players with lots of scope for improvement, several of whom had tremendous games yesterday: Nico O’Reilly, Cherki, Guehi, Khusanov & Haaland; plus slightly older players who can still get better Semenyo & Nunes.

At the centre of it all though was Rodri & Bernardo, who for the second game in a row dished out a football lesson to a major opponent.

I’ve left Trafford out as I don’t know if he will stay, but I really hope he does, even if he goes out on loan.

I'm sure the collapse is partly due to lack of character, but I think the main reason they capitulated is because they don't trust the managers tactics.
When a team collectively drop their heads there is a big issue with the buy-in to the strategic plan.
Slot is literally a chumps league defeat away from the sack.
As soon as PSG finish their season, he's history.
Then it's the dream team of Alonso and Slippy.... lol!
Was it Five Live or Talkshite after the game where they thought it was the few Liverpool fans remaining who were singing about Steve Gerrard?
