Arsenal Thread | 2025/26

Their next few games will be interesting. The biggest prize is the PL. Winning your own league is the main prize and I'm sure that's what the team will want. The second biggest for their fans and board is the CL as they've never won it.

However, as we're well aware, it's not always the best team that wins the CL, there's a big slice of luck in that competition.

So Arteta needs to go all out for the PL. He needs to replicate what Pep done with our team on the back of big cup defeats - I don't know what that was but Areta was in the dressing room and training pitch when Pep done it. If they win the PL then the Carabaou Cup and FA Cup won't register. As City fans we know that.

Still don't expect us to win the league, not sure they'll bottle the league and don't think we can be perfect from here on either but if they are going to bottle it, it has to be Bournemouth.

we don't have the opportunity to pile on the pressure whilst we play after them and can't get the game in hand played so if they were to lose to bournemouth and we beat chelsea, they come to us shaking. If we then beat them in that, it's then a game in hand win away from being a straight shoot out for the last few games. Could do with Sporting making it a serious battle for them, even if they win that game make it a slog and then they've got Bournemouth who run as much as any team.

A 4-0 win gives us a GD advantage
In a scenario where g/d matters. We'd have won our games including our game in hand and they would have needed to lose another game, lets say for arguments sake they lose to bournemouth and we beat chelsea, that's a minimum 5 goal swing in our favour, so a 3 goal win against arsenal puts us ahead and a 2 goal win at worst evens us up. The g/d will essentially be tied up by the time it comes into play.

No it doesn’t

They’ll probably just sneak past Bournemouth but it doesn’t matter we just have to focus on us. I think if we defeat Chelsea we won’t lose another league game this season.

I only found out about the score this morning. :-)

The Carabao cup is gone.
The FA Cup is gone.
The Quadruple is gone.
The Treble is gone.
The Double is gone.

That’s a lot of gone’s.

Hopefully the CL will be gone next.

And then the PL Title will be gone.

If that happens, Lego Head will be GONE!
Captain Black just needs another couple of seasons to get it right.....

I was a bit sceptical, but after Arsenal's display yesterday I have much more confidence.
All rivalry aside they just do not impress me: as a footballing side they have the wrong man in Arteta. He is a nervous breakdown about to happen: he struggles to keep himself together when his side are under threat, and he's even worse when they are attacking. The man's too stressed to even think straight half the time.

As the business end of the season approaches it's going to be a question of who handles the big occasions the best: us, with so much experience of being in this position, have to be favourites: or them, universally known as bottlers and fiercely disliked by fans of the beautiful game because of their inherent negativity and generally un-sportsman like behaviour.

As it stands the tarquins should win the PL.
However if they do, it will be a travesty, because all season they have played anti football and would not be worthy winners.
Hopefully they'll drop the points necessary for City to prevail.
A slim chance I know, but taters' cowardly tactics could bite them, well, on the arse.....

I wasn't being literal, I explained afterwards why I think it has to be Bournemouth, the only game before we play them.
