NORTH STAND - CITY`s HOME END

Your comments are spot on.

Looking to the future, the advantages of the North Stand are clear -

* 9,500 approx.fans on one level.
* ONE entire CITY END
* 3,000 safe standing (the cheapest area in the stadium ?), at the back, under the roof.
* More safe standing can be added along the sides. These will encourage singing in the other general admission seating below and in the middle.
* visually impressive.
* acoustically effective.
* BOOM - can get the whole stadium going.
* When full of 9,500 on ONE level it will always make more noise than the lower, split, small South Stand, providing that singers start to congregate at the back and across the North Stand next season.

The disadvantages of the South Stand lower are well known. Even yesterday, at 43 minutes the lower tier was emptying in a rush for the concourse. Hundreds missed Haaland`s wonderful headed goal. Many also missed City`s third goal. Liverpool fans above made much more of a racket until the match shifted in City`s favour.

The new North Stand should become City`s main, vocal home stand that is as good or better than any home end elsewhere.

North Stand - better name, bigger, louder, and all CITY.
“Even yesterday, at 43 minutes the lower tier was emptying in a rush for the concourse. Hundreds missed Haaland`s wonderful headed goal. Many also missed City`s third goal.”

Seriously, what makes you think that won’t happen in the North Stand? You’re completely and utterly deluded if you think everyone is going to stay in their seats until half-time. In fact, I’d argue that it could be even worse in the North Stand, given the GA+ seats in there. I can see there being one big fuck-off empty gap in that section for the first 10 minutes of the second half of most games.

As for Liverpool fans being louder at the start of the match, well whoopsie fucking woo. Lunchtime kick-offs nearly always benefit the away fans more, regardless of whether they have 3000 or 8000 there. If that had been a teatime or 8pm kick-off then far more of our fans would’ve been bang up for it from the start. In any case, the fickleness of Liverpool’s fans shone through soon enough once we went ahead. Such good fans that they were fucking off in their hundreds and then thousands literally minutes into the second half.

East Stand Upper is bad for this. The concourse is a crush but some people are happy to queue up for crap food and beer for 30 minutes or more. Totally bizarre.

Lots of empty seats in SS2/3 from about 70 minutes for some reason.View attachment 188107

CITY`s so called home end

The photo that you have posted sums it up perfectly.

At this point the only scousers left were those who had to wait for their coaches outside. It was funny to see the exodus. Before this City`s so called end was full of scousers who were louder whilst they were still in the game for 35 minutes. City`s performance on the pitch had to lift those off it. Lets bet frank, before that it was very mixed.
City turned it on and went 4-0 up and the atmosphere lifted accordingly.

Just look at how small the South Stand lower is as evidenced in your photo.

The delusion amongst some of our fans about the South Stand lower is breath taking. They have given it ago, still remain the most vocal however it is clearly time for a change.

The future - CITY`s HOME END - THE NORTH STAND.

@Bert Swift @.db. @EastMidlandsBlue

Roel De Vries has invited the 1894 to speak about the atmophere to the city board

1894 is not moving, no matter how many people write posts about the South Stand not working

To get the club to sort out the North Stand, there needs to be a group similar to the 1894 set-up for the North Stand, as I said in my previous post, call it "The 9320"

At the moment, it's just city fans calling out other city fans on a forum

It’s not delusion FFS. Nobody has ever claimed it’s the best place to get an atmosphere going from but the fans in there are happy to be stay put. What are you going to do? Put a fucking gun to their heads to get them to move to the North Stand?

You keep posting the same generic AI slop without ever making any effort to actively get involved in helping fans move over to the North Stand. That’s the trouble with this forum - too many fans happy to shout from the sidelines but can’t be arsed doing anything themselves.

What do you mean it’s time for a change?

Why can’t you be positive and say SSL1, Blocks 111, 110, 109, and the new NSL2 will compliment each other, and will be great together?

It isn’t always about criticising SSL1 and trying to argue it’s had it’s time.

I’ll tell you something now. Regardless of how NSL2 turns out, and there are no guarantees it will be the atmospheric home end we all want, SSL1, blocks 111, 110, and 109 will ALWAYS be vocal ends.

I missed the first 15 minutes due to work. It was 0-0 when I got in. Both sets of fans were quiet at that point. I don't know about the first 15 minutes.

When City scored the atmosphere was great. The support from SSL1 was superb. I don't know why people are once again criticising SSL1. It seems to be an easy thing to do on here after the match. The rest of the ground was superb as well. Loved the Poznan all around the ground.

Can we just for once all agree that the atmosphere was superb after City scored the goals.

If there was a disappointment, it was the amount of fans who left before the players did their thank you lap after the final whistle.

I wasn’t criticising our fans, just the fact it spreads out our support, but I realise there aren’t any great choices for cup games with away fans needing to be in the South Stand. Thought our fans were fantastic after Liverpool burnt themselves out. The support was great until the end, including the Poznan. I thought more stayed to the end than usual. At least the Liverpool fans could make the last 15 minutes of the game back at home :)

I haven’t given up hope that someone at the club sees sense over this. It’s blindingly obvious what an opportunity we have.

I hadn’t thought about increased FA cup allocations but I suspect it will be the same as clubs get now, ie top two tiers. The rule is 15% but I think you can offer a bit less if you can state that it can’t be policed properly. There were maybe 500 seats roped off at the front of tier two which could be added so I’d say it’s over 8000.
We don’t get 15 per cent at the swamp for starters

Fair enough mate. :-) Like given.

Off the top of my head there are only 3 clubs in the PL that have proper singers at each end of their grounds.

United. The Stretford end and the K-stand.
Leeds. The North stand(Kippax) and the South stand.
Newcastle. The Leazes end and the Gallowgate end.
Other clubs are questionable.

City will have 2 proper singing ends, and a singing section/corner, the new NSL2, SSL1, and Kippax corner. No other PL club will have something similar. We have to make that a positive and an advantage to us and to the team next season.

*whispering in your ear*

SS3 makes more noise than those 3…

This is purely a suggestion, I support the North Stand idea, but the club have mucked up by adding more corporate sections in since the original plans, so they have diluted what could have been a home end

1894 has advised that they are not going to move to the new North Stand, so here is a solution for both parties

Give the 1894 the whole of the lower South Stand and move the away fans up as they do at Newcastle & Manchester Utd, either into both second and third tier or just the third tier, as yesterday proved that having SSL1 all City fans help create a better atmophere for the whole ground. The reason for that was that there was no separation from the away fans on SSL1, and the rest of the ground could hear what SSL1 was singing

Regarding the North Stand, this can be a vocal stand if people set a fan group similar to the 1894, for example, call it "The 9320"
@.db.
Any game like yesterday and both the North Stsnd and South Stands should be loud

All these people asking 1894 to move will be great when they have own group in NS and prove us wrong

Will anyone step up and set this group up? Theyve had long enough now.

I’d put a 1000 safe standing seats at the back of SSL3.
I sit up there so rather you didn’t but it’s not a bad idea.

I still agree the new North Stand should have been our new atmosphere end but if 1894 don’t want to move there then it’s up to them.

Hopefully the club offers cheap season tickets up there and it organically grows an atmosphere like SS3, because there’s working class long term blues in there, rather than corporates.

Note the smiling City fan when he opens the curtains in the Medlock Hotel room on the TV. ;-)
