Arsenal Thread | 2025/26

They'll get through against Sporting. They need Bayern to beat Real as the luck those cunts have in the competition will get them to the final.

They weren't convincing at all. An incredibly easy route to the semis but once they face challenging opponents I think it's gonna get ugly for them very fast.

Not convincing, but I'm sure no one has beat Sporting at their gaff this year.

I see the Arsenal keeper is now the best in the world. I saw bits of the game last night and they were going slightly over the top with some of the saves.

Raya brings confidence to the team and Rice too! Raya made one good save the one he spilled he was lucky to not concede there! They did look a lot better and sporting do have an excellent home record so that was very professional by them! Rice two week rest has helped them big time he looked very leggy before that!

Not a bad result in the grand scheme of things

Means they have to go full strength next week just before playing us

Means they’ll progress so two more huge games right in the middle of the business end of the season

And means they’ll FINALLY come up against decent opposition and will get their arses kicked

Don’t know they defend very well don’t give nothing if the opposition miss chances they can win any cup game! Bayern will make chances many chances but they do give the ball away a lot too..

This sums up the situation perfectly

Also now that they have a lead I guarantee Arteta will overthink the 2nd leg. Do they sit back or push on and try finish it early. The longer it stays at 1-0 the nervier the emirates will get.

Sporting on the other hand are very clear on their objective and have nothing to lose

Still think it's the draws that'll knock them down to about 80 points. They don't create enough and the number of goals they're scoring from corners has dropped off quite significantly in recent weeks. It's just a matter of whether we can get more than 80 points. I think we have the potential to but the FA Cup games might add a couple of headaches.

CL final (N)

Of their 7 remaining games, 2 of them are gimmes imo (Burnley at home, already down; Palace away, on the beach, potentially resting players for the Conference League final as well) but the rest all pose problems to this Arsenal side. Bournemouth in a 12.30 KO between two CL games, very tricky; City away speaks for itself; Newcastle at home is a tricky one if Howe parks the bus; Fulham at home could be tricky for the same reasons; West Ham away will come right in the thick of a relegation fight for them.

They are a stronger side with Raya rather than that clown who played in the final.
Raya is a fine keeper, very good with his feet too

I'll happily let them have 3 more extra games than us. Keeps the bottling potential up.
Is that true though? As it stands we have 7 league games and a maximum 4 CL games left, so 11 theoretical maximum games to play.

City have 8 league games plus an FA Cup semi and almost certainly FA Cup final. So 10 theoretical. And if you get to the final, it's scheduled for 16th May and you currently have Bournemouth away on 17th May, meaning that game will get rescheduled and you might have a final 7 days of the season where you have to play the FA Cup Final, Bournemouth away, Villa home. Plus that Palace game still needs to be rescheduled.

So Arsenal only have 1 more game than City if they get to the CL final and that game would be played after the PL is finished anyway.

But we have proven time and again we are not bottlers.

If they progress in the CL they will have to play 9 matches up to and including the last day of the Premier league season.
If we progress in the fa cup we will have to play 9 matches also.
