I reckon that there will be some serious work to stop it being an option in 2 weeks. The US West Texas oil having gone up by 67% will surely be used to explain domestic pressure to him.
Also, I assume that the Gulf states will be making it clear that they don't want anything to restart, as it's them that are taking the backlash.

Iran doesn't seem to have any reason to attack Gulf states now, so it probably comes down to anything concerning Israel. I don't expect that Trump will try, or have any effect if he does, to do anything regarding Lebanon. I expect that there will be a regular announcement on any Israeli strikes on Iran, whether they're reported openly is a different matter.
