Will we win the league this season? No

Arsenal look ragged. City look composed.

Arsenal rarely win a game in April. City know what needs to be done at this time of the season.

The chase is very much on, and those bottlers know it.

I've backed us all season, but realistically it's probably now all on who wins next week.

My summary: Arsenal win and they're 9 points clear again with at least +5 GD. That will likely be enough for them.

A draw means we still have a good chance, they would need to lose one more but means they're still favourites, only 3 point difference though (assuming we win our game in hand) so wouldn't necessarily be a disaster for us and keeps the pressure on them, but they'd still have the GD advantage.

City win and on current form you can't see them matching us for the rest of the season and they'll probably drop more points along the way anyway.

Their CL participation could be the game changer. They have a slender lead, won't want to drop out at this stage so need to put a strong side out v Lisbon, risk of injuries, lose and their heads might go again, win and they then have the pressure of the CL semi final ties. Either way it's a bit of added jeopardy for them.

For me, as good as it is we've been given yet another chance to win it, ( How many openings have we fluffed? ) if we don't beat them on Sunday for me that really will be it over, particularly if they win it. Of course if we do win then it could totally shatter their confidence, although there will still be a lot for us to do. We have a lot tougher set of fixtures than theirs. Brentford, Everton, Villa, Bournemouth, Palace and Burnley. Everton and Bournemouth away look especially tough as they're both bang in form. Villa are a tough nut too. Having looked at their fixtures i only see West Ham and Palace being tricky, although they usually batter West Ham. Newcastle can't buy a win atm and Fulham flatter to deceive, as we saw this weekend at Anfield. Still we've been given yet another chance to put it into our own hands and i guess that's all we can ask for. Fingers crossed we do it!

I could call you out as negative but you make some good points, let’s enjoy the “second chance” we’ve been given. It’s on and Pep knows it, the players won’t even need reminding.

You can’t touch it
You can’t smell it
You can’t hear it
You can’t see it

But by fuck the Tarquins can feel it, it’s

Paul for someone who has been around the block so often I still can’t believe you haven’t grasped the situation.

It’s not about the toughness of the fixtures at this stage of the season it is about who can best handle the pressure.

In this current moment in time arsenal look like they could drop points in any of their remaining fixtures while we look as though we can win them all. Long may that continue

We look absolutely in the peak frame of mind currently and thats more than half the battle
This. And the best part is ALL of the pressure is on Arsenal. I think a lot of us can see we are in a rebuild and next year will see us return to our peak. However now we are ahead of schedule and in a position to win then we may as well go on with it. However it feels like more of a fun ride especially compared to past title races with Klopps Liverpool.

Arsenal on the other hand well… zero trophies in 6 years after a billion pounds spent. Multiple chances to extend their lead over us to 10+ points. Make no mistake this is something that their manager and players will never recover from. It will be the ultimate of bottle jobs and they and their supporters will never live it down.

A final side narrative and probably the main reason the entire country now is willing us on is because we still try to play the game the right way. The style of football that arsenal have produced should never be rewarded and any true football purist can see that they are damaging the sport that we all love.

Here we are mid April and we are still in the title race when really Arsenal should be out of sight. It doesn’t feel like this City team has anything to lose but Arsenal has everything with how long they have led for this season and the pressure on Arteta to win trophies.

This City team is very much a work in progress but it’s been an enjoyable season seeing players like O’Reilly, Cherki and Kushinov emerge. Next weekend will be some game and hopefully City. A lay a marker down that has Arsenal going away from the Etihad with their title hopes shot to pieces.

Every sensible analysis, usually with 2012 comparisons, has included the requirement for us to beat them at home, and I still believe that.
Win next week and it's a battle of nerves. Can't be arsed looking at Arsenal's fixtures but only Bournemouth away should cause concern for us even if we often struggle to get going against Everton.
Lose next week and the huge psychological boost will give them the title.
A big win for City, by three or more goals, will have Arsenal dazed and confused even if they don't like Led Zeppelin.
