I fancy both West Ham and Newcastle to take points of them
a lot of the games where they had big wins was down to the first goal being a set piece, so even that table wouldn't tell the true storyIs there a league table available without set piece goals scored and conceded?
We’ve been here before and we’ve seen how the pressure gets to Arsenal in the run-in.On paper, Arsenal have an easier run in, but football is played on grass, not paper.
We need it to be the deadest possible win. Everyone dropping stinkers and them squeezing through on pens would be our best betNah you need Arsenal to go through to lump more pressure on them, if they get dumped out by Madrid and we are neck and neck with them in the league their confidence will be low, just one more loss in the league apart from us beating them hopefully I think they’ll fall apart totally.
Big time bottling it this season began for Arsenal at Wolves a month or more ago, but they haven't looked so good for a while, and if you can drop points at the bottom team - from 2-0 up - you can drop points anywhere. We’ve been here before and we’ve seen how the pressure gets to Arsenal in the run-in.
The great Arsenal collapse in 2022-23 started when they gave up a two goal lead at Liverpool who were no great shakes that season (they missed out on CL). Then they did the same thing at West Ham who were safely in mid table with nothing to play for - Saka missed a penalty that would have given Arsenal a 3-1 lead. Followed by a draw at home to Southampton who were anchored at the bottom of the league and doomed to relegation.
The seemingly ‘easy’ games can become huge banana skins. Look at our last day dramas against QPR and Villa. Fortunately we had the strength of character to dig ourselves out of those holes!
Agree, but it’s a must not lose. The dippers beat us at their place deep into the 2014 run in to gain a psychological advantage or so it was claimed. Look how that turned out for them.
Next week is a massive game but it’s not must win
disagree, it's a must win game for me.The dippers beat us at their place deep into the 2014 run in to gain a psychological advantage or so it was claimed. Look how that turned out for them.

Having watched them a few times recently, I fancy all the teams to potentially take points off them.I fancy both West Ham and Newcastle to take points of them
Agreed, just hope it doesn't come back to bite us on the arse. Ironically it was a very Arsenal thing to do.I know it's all "part of the banter" or whatever but that bloke with the Arsenal tears bottle... Nah.
There are six games left; it's gonna swing all over the place. Arteta just needs to stick a picture of that bloke and his little "Arsenal tears" bottle on the wall of the Arsenal dressing room next week. Some people really are desperate to be on TV, getting some of the Fanzone Danny/Big Steve coin. It's the kind of shit London fans do, or Paddy Power employees. Yes it's "just a laugh" and if we win the league he can feel free to dig it out his pocket again, but if Arsenal win it from here and their fans go after him then he deserves all he gets.
Almost every title we've won has been won by finishing 1st quietly instead of 2nd loudly. As an organisation (so players, staff, fans) we've got to practise what we preach with the "stay humble" stuff. It's exactly what we've done on the pitch for years. Mellow personalities, quality football, winners. I've not completely given up on the league at any point this season, but if Arsenal pull off a smash and grab next week then that's it 99% over and that guy with his little Arsenal bottle will get mentioned by at least one Arsenal player after the game. Why do it?
Oh, for the memes, for a laugh. Grand.

You know him having a bit of a laugh has no impact whatsoever on Pep and the players and whether we do or don’t beat arsenal or win the league ?I know it's all "part of the banter" or whatever but that bloke with the Arsenal tears bottle... Nah.

No but he makes a good point about Arteta using it as a galvanizing force. Publicly trashing another team always has a nasty way of coming back to bite you.You know him having a bit of a laugh has no impact whatsoever on Pep and the players and whether we do or don’t beat arsenal or win the league ?
And Joey Barton :)We’ve been here before and we’ve seen how the pressure gets to Arsenal in the run-in.

Agree with this. They will likely find it significantly easier to choke the life out of next Sun's game and snatch an ugly draw than to beat the 5 other teams they have left. We should have enough to break them down but you always need a bit of luck (and decent ref'ing) in such situationsAgree, but it’s a must not lose.
The only thing that will stop us is PGMOL, they've been trying all season
There is an ESPN video in Feb 2019 of their pundits laughing over the likelihood that City would have to win all their remaining games (14) plus have Scousers drop points in 3 or 4 games to have any chance. Everything was done and dusted. The media are in denial mode. Pundits keep saying :”City won’t win all their games.” If we win on Sunday we just have to match Arsenal over five games. They have three London derbies and Brighton. Sunday is the decider.
Right, and what's to keep Pep from plastering all of the Piers Morgan tweets about winning everything this year. Who cares, he was having a laugh drinking gooner tearsYou know him having a bit of a laugh has no impact whatsoever on Pep and the players and whether we do or don’t beat arsenal or win the league ?
Denial mode? Have a look on the media thread at the headlines kinkybyname has posted. They certainly don’t seem in denial. The media are in denial mode.
