Would love to know exactly how Pep changed things at half-time tactically.
I don't think we played that much faster in the second half. We were alright in the first half I thought, we just lacked a bit of quality in Chelsea's third and were occasionally left a bit open to their long balls.
But in the second half we found that bit of quality and suddenly Nunes and O'Reilly were both contributing to overloads on both wings. But we weren't being hit by those long balls anymore despite committing more bodies.
In the first half we sort of set up like this in possession:
Nunes Khusanov Guehi-----------
Semenyo Rodri Bernardo O'Reilly
--------------Cherki---------Doku---
-------------Haaland----------------
In the second half it was more like this:
---------Khusanov Guehi------------
----------Rodri Bernardo------------
Nunes---------Cherki---------O'Reilly
----Semenyo--Haaland--Doku----
But we managed to stay steady, stop them building anything, and we set up in that sort of pentagon formation round the penalty area that Pep likes. Nunes and O'Reilly were both high but we never looked top-heavy.
