Will we win the league this season? No

Obviously that would be ideal.

Were we to properly put them to the sword, 3-0 or 4-0 something of that ilk, it’s not hard to envisage them completely imploding, cliques forming in the dressing room, players openly questioning Arteta, their daft fans losing the plot even further, the board panicking and getting rid of Arteta etc etc

Someone on 606 said Arsenal should sack him now.

It’s better than if this weekend had gone the other way and we were resigned to watching Arsenal parade around as champions for the next few weeks. Next Sunday would have been even worse.

Much better to be in it and fighting, that nervousness means we’re alive… Manchester City are still alive here…
………Balotelli

At the same time the pressure could adversely affect them. I seem to remenber a lot of our matches not ending well in "celebratory" circumstances, last match at Maine Rd for example.
The official unveiling of the new Platt Lane monstrosity springs to mind.

Much pomp and ceremony, brass band performing pre kick off and then utter disaster

Before the season or even around Christmas most Arsenal fans would have been happy if offered their current league position and a highly likely CL semi vs Atletico. They have a very good chance to reach the CL final, unbeaten at that, which would be more than a decent achievement.

It's the recency bias (3 losses from the last 4 games) that makes things look bad for them. But we had such a period recently as well (around Forest, W Ham and Real games) and many weren't happy with Pep and the team.

I'm optimistic, because I think this City team are highly talented and Pep is far from finished. But a bad result next Sunday (it's football) and negativity may come to the fore again.

5:1 City :)

I respect your view but can’t agree about football style. More than ever football is an entertainment business. Long term Leeds suffered commercially because of their deserved “dirty Leeds” tag. Arsenal have damaged the reputation Wenger gave them. You have to win in style these days.
And do so with class as Erling rightly said “stay humble”

I've said all season to pals if we're in striking distance come march game on noone mentioned us until cup final v them they've always had a soft under belly put pressure on them and they crumble every year around April it happens

I’m not sure negativity has been at the fore except from idiots who know very little

We are in transition as a team / squad. Pep has been telling everyone all season but he also expects effort and workrate

That is what has really happened lately, we are working better and harder as a team

Gary Neville has been saying it for months. But, I don't see it. We have the momentum, a week's rest, experience of these games, already beaten them convincingly recently and it's a home game. The only thing for them is that they only need a draw while we need a win.
Not true.
If it’s a draw the gap is only 3 points in reality with 5 games for them to go. They could easily lose another game.

A draw on Sunday is not a disaster. It will swing the pendulum back to Arsenal, but not by very much imo. Whether they have a CL semi will likely make a difference to the outcome in those circumstances.

The gods are with us...
We win at Chelsea, then Arsenal lose, then the Rags lose, now Liverpool out of CL.

I feel it in my waters, along with all the other diabetic and CKD rubbish!

Whislt a draw suits arsenal more than it suits us… it sounds obvious but a draw wouldnt give them the same confidence than a win would…

If arsenal win, it would boost their confidence levels and carry them easily over the line

A draw gives them a slight advantage, however likelihood of two tough CL games (asumming they get thru) and the fact that two years ago they played for the draw and came unstuck will mean it’s not terminal for us

City win and its very much game on

I can’t see how Arteta can come for the draw - it will be a mistake if he does - just like the 4-in-a-row season when we were there for the taking

Fingers and everything else crossed. ;-)

According to her latest statements, Blue intends to stage the event in Manchester if the club secures the league title. In an even more controversial pledge, she has claimed she would be willing to engage with every Manchester City supporter in celebration of such a victory.

Personally I don't think that we will win it because I don't think that we have been good enough all season! If we do then great, I just think that it is funny as fuck that we are on for another Domestic Treble after not playing well all season!

I'd would rather watch United win the Quadruple, before I would ever look at thing over my missis mate!

Nice long segment on City. Of course the obligatory mention of Khusanov's debut (towards the end) but overall a good listen.
