Seat Counters 25/26

In terms of sales for the semi final, anything we take over about 22k will surprise me.

The most disappointing thing is the complete lack of any recognition from the club that the match going fanbase are not as wealthy as they are, and are assumed to have a bottomless pit of money to keep paying up for a game that shouldnt be at Wembley; or they assume the tourist fanbase they continually court will somehow fill our end.

There was a great opportunity here to lay on free coach tavel for fans to enable many more to be able to afford to attend this one, given only the most optimistic believed we would sell out our end. However to do this the club would have to give much of a shit about the match going fans - and after the complete lack of support we all received after the Istanbul shambles, and how theyve acted since in basically doing everything to alienate the local match going fan - its clear the club dont care at all about us.

For the record I am going to this one, but only because I was able to access a £30 ticket; I work in Lodnon so can park for free in a location a short distance from Wembley thats directly on the Metropolitan tube line, so it hugely reduces costs for me making me very rare and lucky in this instance. If this werent the case or the only ticket available to me was £70 or upwards I wouldnt be bothering going, and I fully understand those who are simply being squeezed too much.

Some good points.

This and next seasons North Stand White Elephant will I suspect see an end to the persecution of match day going fans as the last 12 months have been very hard for me to not throw my hand in after 45 years as a season ticket holder. My lads still wanting to go means I am clinging on by my fingernails.

I and my 2 lads plus my brother will be there for the SF with a night in MK, would prefer 20k plus proper Blues there than a tourist sell out like the CS v Arsenal.

totally agree with all of that, the pricing is a disgrace, the planner gives the impression there are swathes of cheaper tickets but in truth most of them are 70 quid up (60 quid for kids) for a game against a championship side where travel will be equally as expensive, i actually believe the club just hope the tourists down south pick up the slack which clearly is not happening. I wonder out of the 20000 sold how many are coming from Manchester i bet it is well below 10000

Semi final live on BBC. Average cost per fan to go to Wembley plus ticket probably north of £100.
Easier and less stressful to watch on tv particularly for match day ticket goers who are occasional away travellers.

They’ve sat back and done absolutely nothing, as per usual.

I find watching on telly WAY more stressful than being there in person.

Going to Wembley is such a doddle now. We used to boycott the SFs as I agree they shouldn’t really be held there but I am really looking forward to this one.

I can’t understand the minority of posters who are desperate for neutrals to fill empty seats. 22-25k Blues should be enough to create a racket anyway

The stress of getting there and back etc etc.
Agree that watching in the ground is a lot less stressful than on the TV or radio.

If the Club would have contributed something then great but I don’t think we can expect handouts. Loads of people on here seem to have had some benefits from Danny Wilson and good lucky to them, but that is not the norm.

Yes rewards for loyalty would be welcome every few years and instead Everton away is expected to sell out at 24,500 points. The free flight to Porto was great but I’m not expecting something similar every season.

I think the biggest priorities are to stop the knee jerk banning of fans and getting the thousands of extra family / junior season cards available for the start of next season. Then ease up on the ticket transfer restrictions.

There will be 30k plus there from City by the end of sales and I expect it to be very much like v Palace ‘a family atmosphere’ which is great when you are bringing young ones like me.
My first trip to Wembley in 76 was when I was 15 my Grandson is making is 8th and he’s only 10.
460 mile round trip and they can’t wait.

there really won't be 30000 there, sales have virtually ended

I think once the club address the transfer of tickets to friends etc and it not be so difficult and like you say Tim getting those 1000s of extra ST sorted quickly then we are going in the right direction.

City don’t control the prices for this game. The FA are total bandits. Club Wembley level 2 is rarely full for any matches including FA Cup Finals. City could have subsidised travel I suppose but tbh coaches don’t appeal to everyone given the state of the roads. I’m going and expect a great atmosphere as there was for Forest. In fact our away support this season has been magnificent in most games.

It should be easier next season with the new stand. The extra capacity should help keep prices reasonable. MK is a great shout. I always stay there. Very easy for Wembley and very cheap hotels and trains to London.

Spot on Nick. We need to capture this spell of positive football / results and get more families in the ground. As you say, the ticket transfer restrictions just aren’t compatible with a bigger capacity ground
