It’s a matter of opinion, not fact, so you don’t need toI get where you're coming from; honestly, I do. Just not sure I can agree with you!
I miss Dallas. There won't. Just as there's not been another Yaya, Sergio, Sterling, Kev, Fernandinho, David Silva, Riyad, Ewing, but we find players that can fill the gap left - almost! And then add their own magic to the mix.
Not all fans don't get it ta very much :-)You listen to ex pros talking about him and you realise how good he is. Fans don't quite get it.
Stones didn't leave last season ?Is it a cert Stones is gone too? They both deserve a huge send off
They cannot afford Rashford.
Yes.hes on a free
I'm kind of torn in this. We seem to let go a little to early in many cases for me. Yaya, Kompany, KDB and several others, always seemed like that had another season in them at least as back up if nothing else. Bernardo hardly ever misses a match and often plays the full 90 so it's not like he's past it.Tbh, while I would have loved to have him for another season, it makes sense for all for him to leave on a high captaining us and winning a trophy or 2 or 3 while we get a new crew in.
We need to start going all in on the "next generation".
Yes.
Rashford 26 million the fee quoted to Barcalona.seemingly they cannot afford that and his wages.
Bernardo wages make it unlikely they could afford him.
Barca are still in a financial mess.
Exactly this. Time might be right for him but I dont think it's right for us. We need an established replacement in first, not later. He’s been especially superb this season, taken on responsibility for the whole team and dragged them back up to the standards he was used to with KDB, Merlin, Fern, etc.
Inspirational, tireless leader on the pitch. Wish he could stay another season to help the new younger players.
Had to laugh at this comment :They're not fans on RagCafe: https://www.redcafe.net/threads/bernardo-silva-footballer.456875/page-8
And yet they adore Bruno Fernandes and still bang on about Paul Scholes like he was The Second Coming. What a truly bizarre lot!
I think we're in the crap if we lose Rodri as well.I feel he's been generally underrated by many. Most seem to focus on goals and assists but he's the engine that makes us tick over and unfortunately, his work is often unnoticed.
Class player who'll be missed. He scored one of my favourite goals ever too. Villa away (about 5 seasons ago maybe). A superb volley that finished off a fantastic counter attack. Seeing that live at Villa Park that night was fucking brilliant.
We simply cannot lose Bernardo and Rodri for next season.
I felt like all 3 of those players left at the perfect time.I'm kind of torn in this. We seem to let go a little to early in many cases for me. Yaya, Kompany, KDB and several others, always seemed like that had another season in them at least as back up if nothing else. Bernardo hardly ever misses a match and often plays the full 90 so it's not like he's past it.
If we lose Rodri too I think we could be in trouble next season, we don't have too many other natural leaders and it's not like you can just go out and buy a replacement.
I'm not talking about playing 90 minutes every week, but having somebody you can bring in to potentially change a game when it's not going well.I felt like all 3 of those players left at the perfect time.
Yaya was definitely past it.
Kompany was ready to start coaching.
KdBs body was wearing on him, and we are seeing that this season at Napoli.
I dont think either of those 3 reasons would apply to Bernie, but I think generally we let players go at the right time.
If he stays, im also perfectly happy as well, and if Rodri leaves I'll be sad, I agree about the leadership change (and so I hope Rodri stays) but I think its better for the team for some of the 25-ish year old players to take charge.
