John Stones set to leave at end of season | Confirmed by club (p11)

He's just on too much money and not playing enough games unfortunately, so the writing was always gonna be on the wall for him as far as any contract extension was concerned ..... in short, simply too much of a risk for the value we're getting, and sadly for him, and us, he can't really argue his case.

I can see him landing up in the lower leagues, if he lands up anywhere at all, or he might just call it a day on medical advice.
He'd be better off going to America to play, but as he has a young family, I'm not sure he'd be willing to be that distance away, especially when it's not a main career decision

Who’d not want a fully fit John Stones in their team?

We’ve had the best of him.

Mind you he might do a James Milner who before he left us could hardly move on the pitch to then become a world beater with Liverpool.

I don’t think John Stones is a **** though.

Don’t remember Milner ever not being able to move on the pitch. Wasn’t particularly keen on him as a player. Great squad man but we usually had someone better for the actual position he started in. He seems like a very decent bloke though and amazing pro. Think the hate for him was well over the top. Very few players who’d decided to leave City wouldn’t join Liverpool if they were in for them.

Super player but time stops for no one good luck Johnny stones hope he gets a good move and stays injury free

Inevitable that he will not get a contract renewal given his injury record and the fact we have so many younger CBs with great potential.

Still sad though to see him leave because he is one of the very best CB’s I have seen at City in nearly 60 years as a supporter - up there with Vinnie.

He is one of the players without whom we would not have brought the Treble home - possibly the star of that run-in.

Can only wish him well for the future.

I'll never know how he managed to get that clear ... and I'll bet Salah doesn't either.

An absolute Rolls Royce of a player when he was fit.... sadly these days he never is. So unless there's a miracle cure that actually gets him onto a football pitch again it's an easy decision to let him go.
