42 | Antoine Semenyo - 2025/26

To think someone on here was arguing with me about his touch after Chelsea, Christ almighty.
Definitely needs to work on his first touch, especially dropping the ball dead when crossed or sent long to him.

I recall an Inside City episode where Grealish took tutelage from the unassailable master at this: Riyadh Mahrez. The duo would practice this over and over. Semenyo has Cherki, Bernardo, O’Reilly, and RAN (I may be forgetting others) to practice this with. It will make his overall game more effective.

His attacking contribution, statistically, is excellent. But looking ahead to the upcoming matches, I think he’s the only one out of the other ten who doesn’t necessarily have to be a guaranteed starter. He really lacks technique and a good first touch, and he’ll have to improve that.

Not his best game, but he's doing great for us.
Patient support.
He's kind of like a winger version of Haaland. A bit rough at times, but hard to argue with the numbers.

Anyway, poor today (and against Real) but the guy has been on such a ridiculous journey through the levels in the game, it's kind of understandable. He's been really important since joining, we really needed that extra source of goals.

Poor today really but overall he's been a positive and been a first choice in the team that's starting to look like a real force, so he's definitely doing far more good than bad in general

I knew he wouldn't get subbed off even though he was quite poor because he atleast offers alot of off the ball defensive work.

So there's that.

But he really needs to work on that 1st touch, he also offers no threat 1v1 as he cant dribble.

I dont know how much better he can get, but I think next season I suspect we go in for a RW.

Had an absolute stinker. Back to the pub team first touch. When you hear his story how he had next to no academy football and you see games like today, it makes sense.

Dust himself off and go again, going to need him performing better than that if we are to win this league. Just needs to keep his game simple for now, get down the line and whip some balls across when 1v1, provide a run into the space behind when someone like cherki is on thr ball and keep getting into goalscoring positions when possible. That is all we need from him.

Not good enough im afraid..
I'm not his biggest fan, but comments like these are so dumb I have to respond. His goals have been huge for us since he's joined. To deem a player "not good enough" when I've seen his name thrown around in POTY conversations (not that I agree) puts your comment's stupidity into perspective.

Yes, he had a shit game, but give him some time, for fucks sake.

He'll know what he has to work on in the off-season.

Seen enough of him now to know what we've got. Out of every 10 games, three of them will be absolute stinkers where nothing sticks to his feet. The other seven will be absolutely fine.

Gonna give him the benefit of the doubt today because this is the first time he's ever been in this sort of situation as a footballer. It got to him. Slipped over a couple of times because of nerves.

Rest him for Burnley imo, but he deserves a start at Wembley.
