Will we win the league this season? No

I find it hilarious that Arsenal are said to have the easiest games yet they failed to beat Bournemouth at home and failed to beat Southampton in the FA Cup, both of which were supposed to be statement games showing the world they're not bottlers after losing to us at Wembley. They failed both tests, then lost again today in their last big chance to show everyone they are still the team to beat.

Prior to those matches they struggled to get past Everton (didn't score until after the 90th minute), struggled to beat Chelsea who played with 10 men for over an hour, lost a 2 goal lead v Wolves (and one of their goals was an own goal) and laboured v Sporting, Leverkusen, Brighton and Mansfield.

And of course they've now failed to beat us in three matches this season, their only goal coming from the error by our keeper today.

On current form they could go through the rest of the season without a win. I think we'll win it with games to spare.

Bournemouth aren't doing too bad form wise..

We still have play them away on may 17th.

I'm not getting carried yet, even if we win at Burnley. I still have les arse as slight favourites as they play twice before our Monday night game at Everton. Good chance for them to get 6 points and - don't laugh - a few goals on us.

Still too close to call.

I'm not convinced at all that we will win every game.

If Arsenal could drop another 3 points then I think that might do the trick.... But even then I'd still be nervous with this new team.

Next year, providing Pep stays, this team will be very very good.

May be irrelevant by the time we get to the last weekend of the season, but I think we could do with Villa going through in their Europa League semi final so the have to play their final on the Wednesday 20th beforehand. Having them safely secured top 5 - by league route or winning that - would be good too.

By the same token we could do with Crystal Palace getting knocked out of the Europa Conference semifinals against Shaktar, because the final of that is on Wednesday 27th, 3 days after their last day league against arsenal on 24th. If they get through to that, they’ll have zero interest in that arsenal game.

They are an injury to Gabriel or Saliba away from folding completely (or a suspension) but the have to play them in every game.
Those semis should really take it out of them.
Totally agree. The reason I'm backing us to win it now is the same reason I backed us to win it 6 months ago - because they're as good as they're going to be while we're rebuilding, and as I said back then, they won't get any better while we would keep on improving. That's exactly what has happened and we're now proving we're the better team.

Everyone points to the two recent draws we had but we deserved to win both matches easily. Now consider Arsenal's form, not recently but for the past few weeks. Barring the 4-1 win v Spurs, which given their form this season doesn't really count, they have been poor for weeks.

They've been scraping wins, very late v Everton, struggled v Brighton, v Chelsea against 10 men for over an hour, and haven't been convincing in any of their other matches going right back to February and it's obvious they weren't going to keep getting away with it. They peaked ages ago, we're still improving. That's why we'll win it.

If you’re looking at the fixture list, you’re wasting your time. With what’s left, anybody can win and anybody can lose any game.

What difference do people think there is between Newcastle, Fulham, Bournemouth and Everton? They’re all within 6 points of eachother and Newcastle have actually won more games than Bournemouth. You’re talking about fractions of a % difference between these sides which is not going to be the thing that decides the title.

Would you rather play at home to a Villa team that has a CL place bagged, or away to a West Ham team which is above Villa in the form table and is fighting for its life?

Next two games for the Goons are against Newcastle are probably the worst team in the league at the moment and that's a blessing for the Goons , Fulham will cause them problems . but their downfall will be West Ham away , fighting for their lives and they have a manager with the nous to out smart Legohead.
Not forgetting two really tough games against Simeone's dogs of war , possibly extra time penalties etc., all this makes us the favourites , 5 wins and a draw will win the title.
2nd again Ole Ole.

Exactly this. People are flapping over our matches yet Arsenal couldn't beat Southampton, a Championship team In fact have now lost 4 matches on the bounce (apart from the CL matches they scraped through), and the one before those they needed last minute goals to beat Everton. We might not win every remaining match but do they honestly look like winning 5 on the trot?

To be honest I always hate end of season midweek away games against opposition that are playing for pride and little else.

No play off after 38 matches then.
In case of level points, GD and goals scored, we are winning on head-to-head record.

Think we'll do it on points though.

Everton and Bournemouth can still get 6th place.

If Villa wins the Europa, of which I think they will, then 6th gets CL football.

Those two games will be really tough, nervy watches.

We have to look at Burnley and even Palace at home to some degree where we need to rack up a goal rout for the gd.
