Its funny really, on match days you knew exactly where to stand by walking down the steps, recognising faces,
squeezing in on the right and hey ho there were your mates.
If you stupidly got there too early I didn’t have a clue.

We use to stand in the middle behind the front barrier, right opposite the tunnel and always got there early, dead early. One of our friends used to sit on top of the barrier because he was only young and a tall lad would stand right in front of him until the first whistle and then move just to the side so the young lad got a good view.

The event is the launch of Soccer '70, an exhibition in Manchester Town Hall displaying 65 international trophies and mementoes. Proceeds from the exhibition which will include soccer forums and films will go towards better facilities for The Manchester and Salford Playing fields Society and boys Club. Thought it wasn't St Marks :)

It says Maine Road on the actual plans. The Kippax ended up being bigger and the Platt Lane and North Stand smaller in capacity.

Yes but the link said 'St Marks West Gorton' that's what threw me

Just realised that the lines on the pitch are actually a map of Manchester, with the Old ground location (Hyde Road) and the new ground location (Maine Road) marked on them.......not sure there was a need to mark Old toilet on It though!!!

Threw me at first too. Then I started to realise it was way too big to be Hyde Rd, and then noticed the surrounding area
