I think it’s bad form to use an apostrophe to contract a noun in written English with very few exceptions.

It's not a contraction to write pic's instead of pics, even if short for pictures. Whoever wrote it probaly uses apostrophes for all plurals. Other than plurals it was once quite common for abbreviated words - 'bus, 'phone... (A century ago...)
