10 | Rayan Cherki - 2025/26

Part of me thinks he holds into the ball for too long, but then sometimes I think he has to because sometimes there's not enough movement.... decent performance.

Thought he was really poor today if you look beyond the flashy stuff. No end product, regularly chose the wrong option instead of a simpler one, constantly declined the opportunity to shoot in favour of something more flashy. Just generally trying too much.

Surprised Pep didnt hook him. Expect him to be rested weekend and if one of his replacements plays well, I can see him starting on the bench against Everton, needs grounding a bit.

I think he played okay, with several killer passes that his teammates should have done a lot better with from the plates Cherki served.

Was our best attacking player, only one who looked like he could make something happen

Yeah did nothing apart from have 4 shots on target, should have had at least 2 assists - the miss from Nico was one of the worst ever, set up Erling twice who failed to convert. Kept us going forward when they got deep - yes he should have scored himself but it's a stretch to say he was poor but I know you don't really rate him deep down.

He created 8 chances....

Three chances created by Cherki, zero goals from them. He did his job, the finishers didn't. Would've loved to see him drive at defenders more since there was barely any movement to pass into.

Normally I agree with your takes but I completely disagree with this.

He was our best attacking player.

On another night he's going home with the match ball , lost count the amount of times he drove into the penalty area , the only player that looked like opening up Burnley , need to extend and improve his contract in the summer , he's a £100m player already

Doku was comfortably better. He was better than Semenyo. I've no complaints with some of his approach play, he was positive in that regard, carried the ball forward well but the end product wasn't there. too many times he tried the highlight reel moment rather than the more effective simple option.

What defines a chance created? By my reckoning, he created one proper chance, which was for O'Reilly at the end who should have scored, that was a good chance and should have got an assist for that. Don't think there was anything else, what were the other 7?

Doku wasn't better, not sure you even watched the game based on that.

The very bad tonight in my opinion in contrast to the genius we've seen

Throwing his arms about despite playing in reverse all

Really poor compared with who? Bench v Everton! Attention seeking drivel.
