Won to go top with 5 to play but feels like a bad result.
Arsenal play twice now before we do again in the league.
On what basis does it feel like a bad result? We've just gone top for the first time in over 200 days when even a month ago nobody gave us a prayer of catching Arsenal.

Meanwhile they've been in poor form for a couple of months at least, scraping wins when they have won, lost the Carabau to us, out of the FAC to a Championship side, lost at home to Bournemouth then lost again to us - 4 games in which they had the chance to show the world they are the best team and they end up out of two competitions and now lose top spot with 5 games left.

If you're an Arsenal fan this will feel like a vey bad result. Job done.

We need to remember how difficult Sunday was mentally, so there was bound to be a bit of a come down tonight.

I thought the foward players were poor tonight, poor in decision making at least, too much trying to walk through a team who defended well, and a keeper who made some good saves.

After the Lord Mayors parade.
Very poor tonight. Half arsed, walking football. A reluctance to get at them at times, always looking to be safe and then cocking up or over playing.
Semenyo, Cherki, O’Reilly not quite on it tonight. It was crying out for Foden and Marmoush. Relieved to have got the 3 points
Arsenal now have two home games before we play again, so we will be playing catch up again.
It was one of those no win wins. Ateotd we won and got 3 (THREE) points. Really is all that matters at this stage

I hate it when people blame the pitch but that pitch really killed our game. It looked like the pitch and ball were velcro, slower than an arthritic sloath. We just couldn't play our usual zippy passes which made it look we were slowing everything down. but we didn’t bungle it and that pot of gold at the end of the rainbow is waiting.

It was always going to be tricky backing up after the euphoria of the Arsenal game.

Nevertheless a win's a win. Let's look forward to the cup semi, where we can rest some key players.
Couldn't agree more - we all wanted a cricket score but kind of knew it wouldn't happen. We thought this even more so after scoring such a good goal after only 10 minutes. Thereafter, torture!

Not "Typical City" though, otherwise Burnley would have got a late equaliser.

Top of the league, hey! Who'd have thought it?!?

A word I used a lot to describe our performances earlier in the season - unconvincing.

It’s made a worrying return to my vocabulary.

The 3 points are brilliant but we simply cannot perform like that in any of the remaining games.
Why not? Arsenal have played half the season like that and won them. They're not likely to win their last 5 on current form and we might not even have to. Nothing wrong with the performance, everyone's just frustrated because the goals didn't go in. Expecting too much as usual.

Newcastle
Reading Arsenal forums & that has lifted them a bit so I imagine it gives players a boost too. Good 3 points but so many chances to get a 3 or 4 goal advantage takes pressure of them a bit.

That was our easiest game left so we need ti make sure all chances are taken from this point.

Still incredible we are top this season
Newcastle game will be interesting for sure. Got to win games and worry about goal difference later but it’s got to be on everyone’s mind.

The weren't playing for league survival. They were going down. Was just a matter of when

Our possession was poor. Our finishing was even poorer. And The selection without Rodri's correct understudy clearly was a mistake.

Top of the league.

Well done on always wanting to be right, even when you’re wrong.
