I’d rotate a bit tbh

Trafford
Lewis khusanov guehi ait Nouri
Reijnders Nico G
Foden
Savio haaland marmoush

Some do realise this is a FA cup semi final?!?! Strong team to begin with, hopefully build up a decent lead and then make changes imo.

Trafford
Nunes
Khusanov
Guehi
O`Reilly
Gonzalez
Bernardo Silva
Cherki
Doku
Semenyo
Haaland

The team looked fucked yesterday, you have a squad so you can rotate and if we can't rely on the squad for Southampton then we've got a big problem, I don't suggest changing the whole 11 but players like O'reilly, Silva, Cherki,Semenyo Haaland need to be protected/rested for the next 5 pl games because they're going to be extremely intense and difficult.

Trafford

Nunes
Khusanov
Guehi
Ait Nouri

Gonzalez
Kovacic
Reijnders

Foden
Marmoush
Doku

Not that it should matter, but Southampton will likely rest players, as they have a huge game against Ipswich on Tuesday.

I'm pretty sure we won't, we went strong in the last 2 rounds and we had a huge game after the Arsenal QF as well. Very little chance of autos anyway and this game is obviously massive for us.

Frankly the manager can get to fuck if he does rest players.

I'd love to see you lot go as weak as some are saying here but that doesn't seem likely. Regardless games have finally caught up with us recently and we've looked proper leggy so I fear a bit of a pasting.

That's not a bad team, to be fair. Trafford's as good as Donna is some respects, so no problems there. I particularly like the fact that you haven't messed around with the back line. Midfield ok, but I wouldn't have Kova in that or anywhere near it. After nearly a season out, hasn't been played into the team enough. Front line fair enough — I see the need to rest Haaland and Cherki — although I keep hoping against hope that Phil will finally be recognisable as the player he is. Maybe this might be the occasion to spark it?

Still a decent team, but Pep probably wants to win this. This team would be a gamble.

I really hope so, If not Kovacic, who? I really don't rate Lewis at all, Stones doesnt really have the legs to play there any more, not sure Phil or Reijnders are capable of doing a defensive job and ultimately I dont think Gonzalez can hold the midfield by himself. Maybe O'Rielly will have to play in midfield again just worry about him getting burnt out.

I think Pep sees this as a chance to win another trophy, so won’t gamble with the line up. He’ll probably rest Rodri, giving him another 9 days to recover from his groin injury. I’d keep the defense the same… and Guehi is eligible. Give Foden a game.

So this is my choice:
Trafford
Nunes, Khusanov, Guehi, O’Reilly
Bernardo, Nico G
Semenyo, Haaland, Foden, Doku

We expended so much energy in the previous 4 games, I think Sunday was the peak. However, just a couple of tweaks, obviously Trafford in goal, maybe Kova and Phil in there but I’d like to see Johnny Stones given an hour or so. If Kush or Guehi get injured we may well need Boulders.

Get through Saturday and we’ve got an 8 day break until the Everton game, plenty of time to recharge the batteries and get Rodders back.

I'm really looking forward to this. Its like an oasis of excitement in the middle of a league run full of trepidation.
3-1 City
Sunny weekend in London, yep gonna be good :-)

Would imagine on the Saturday there’ll be plenty of Newcastle, Arsenal and Leeds supporters around too, as well as City and Southampton - be interesting to see how visible footy fans are in general on Saturday afternoon/evening.

Re the team, hope we go strong ish, then change, but I’d have no qualms about a player like Kovacic featuring at some point, because although he’s not played much recently he has so much experience, he’s the sort I’d class as a safe pair of hands. Some of the other current fringe players, less so.

My worry is some of the players on the bench (Marmoush, Foden, Reijnders) have barely played any minutes so will be rusty if they do start.

I'd like to see Nico and Kovacic in midfield.
We might need them to be less rusty in the run-in. Not saying that's why they should play, but maybe something to consider.
