you chose 2.
you are dead :)

and your second choice are from fucking wigan.

It's Definitely Maybe for me. I'm at the age where I was absolutely impressionable when it came out, couldn't afford to buy a load of cassettes (our family hadn't upgraded to CDs yet then) and it was an album I played to death for years. I still do.

For a while in my teens I thought the successor was better but I've since matured.

The Queen is Dead. Let's not try and be clever about this.
Wait. First stone roses album. Ok. It's one of the two.

Whenever the debate arises of who has the best debut album out of The Roses or Oasis, I always throw this into the debate - a truly sublime album

So, for me it's this album by Doves........

But could so easily be
Oasis - Definitely Maybe
Stone Roses - Stone Roses
Charlatans (yes they are Northwich) - Tellin Stories
New Order - Technique (what a summer.....well two summers actually including the year before!!)
Northside - Chicken Rythyms

If you’re gonna count bands from Wigan, then I’ll throw in “Before the Calm” by Witness.
The track “Heirloom” is one of the most beautiful songs to grace a piece of vinyl.
You’re welcome.
Wigan is not Manchester...and it doesn't matter how many Co-op Chemists you fucking rip off.

Closely followed by Strangeways here we come, Stone Roses/SR and Joy Division/Unknown pleasures. Oh, and the best of Brotherhood of man.
