I still remember the thrill of hearing The Smiths first album (The Smiths) being played from start to finish in a bar in Glasgow.

It's Definitely Maybe for me. I'm at the age where I was absolutely impressionable when it came out, couldn't afford to buy a load of cassettes (our family hadn't upgraded to CDs yet then) and it was an album I played to death for years. I still do.

For a while in my teens I thought the successor was better but I've since matured.

Whenever the debate arises of who has the best debut album out of The Roses or Oasis, I always throw this into the debate - a truly sublime album

So, for me it's this album by Doves........

New Order - Technique (what a summer.....well two summers actually including the year before!!)
