Fashionable or not, I literally consider this to be the most accomplished album that I have ever heard by any artist. I am very much an audiophile and I genuinely consider it to be superior to anything by even The Beatles, Led Zeppelin or Bowie.
The legendary Brian Eno (Bowie, Talking Heads, Roxy Music...) was the producer and he has described it as being the best thing he's been involved in and also described the song Sometimes as being "the best song of all time."
This album is 33 years old; I've listened to it more than any other record and every single listen has been a blissful experience. It will never age and I can't imagine it ever being matched.

I have both 'Closer' and 'Unknown Pleasures' on 180g vinyl. Closer is the more polished album for sure, but I just love the rawness of Unknown Pleasures.
