Fucking hell; some of the comments on here. Try being a Spurs fan. Or Leicester. Or Bury. Or, or, or. The team looked shattered the other night, so there was always going to be wholesale changes today. I have confidence in that XI to get the job done. Radical, I know.

But we are not

We might struggle for pace on the transition , but anyone complaining needs to give their head a wobble , its a £400m football team and a bench full of big hitters , all the players know their jobs and the system , it wont be a walk over , but lets just get the job done. Then we can watch the Geordies complete a memorable victory against the Goons ,an end to a perfect day

This is a copy & paste of the pre-match Newcastle flappers thread. Seven of the starting X1 against the barcodes are starting today.

That worked out quite well if memory serves.
I remember that game well, as we played superbly against the barcodes.

I'm sure we'll still have too much for the Saints, and what a pleasure to see Stonesy leading the team out.

Sheila (Eccles Blue) would have been in raptures!

We'll need the likes of Ake, Ait-Nouri, Gonzalez, Kovacic, Reijnders, Marmoush, Foden etc. during the PL run-in, either as subs or as rotation options for (or around) those two midweek games against Palace and Bournemouth. This is the best chance we've got left to get them properly match fit. I don't mind the team at all - it should have enough quality.
Ah bliss.

Quite a similar side to that which won the home leg against Newcastle back at the start of February, when we were helped that night by an early Marmoush goal; something similar would be nice. Bigger question is how long it takes them to gel, with so many having not been played in so long.

Reminds me of the CL FINAL v Chelsea.
When the team sheet came out we all said ( in the ground) who has picked this team. Same here…. Do we actually want to win this? I could be wrong… I hope so. We have come a long way and set off at 9.15am. I hope it was worth it!!

But we are not
No we're City fans. Unless you've been on the moon for the last decade, you'll have seen what we've achieved in the domestic cups, a lot of the time with supposedly "weaker" line ups in the games leading to Wembley. But hey; I'm sure we all want the team that Pep has sent out to prevail.

Theo Walcott ffs. Cant they get an actual southampton ex player not some twat who played 20 games when he was 17

I'm surprised that a certain poster hasn't been on here, accusing those with less confidence of "overreacting", as he did with me a few days ago. Calling D.
