Slightly off topic, but my older brother kev who died in 1975 aged just 24 was a truly fanatical Man City supporter used to go to every game home, away, testimonials, charity and demo games the lot! Didn’t have much money but hitchhiked to every away game in all kinds of weather.
I wish he had lived to see the success we have had and I bet the fucker would still be hitchhiking on his Zimmer frame to every away game!
And if anyone remembers my uncle Dave whelan ( he did a lot for the manchester amateur leagues as a player, ref and board member) and painter and decorator at city only ever used blue! Currently in hospital aged 80 suffering from dementia please give a shout out!

A lovely tribute. I always think about my lost family when I’m at Wembley. You have to enjoy these moments and remember how lucky you are to see them.

Especially during Abide with me.
I started going to the match with my dad in 1983 and I never thought I'd see a City cup final with him. Then it happened against Stoke, I didn't care if we never won a single thing after that - he said I'm glad you've seen us win something - it never occured to me before that; trophies were for other teams, not City in my mind.
He died in 2023 just a few days before we won the CL.
But I'm just glad I saw us win a cup final together.

Know someone who met two Australians (father and son) in Cardiff who had flown to the UK for the weekend to watch a rugby match and they drank pretty much non stop from the airport at Sydney on the Friday morning to when they got on the return flight at Heathrow on the Sunday.

That is hardcore tbf.

thank you Guys for your lovely testimonials of past family members.
I think it’s very fitting at city and other Clubs in The uk there a day to celebrate and remember fans that have died in the year.
It can make me laugh and my blood boil a bit
When you get people who have no understanding of the Beautiful Game say football is just kicking a ball of wind about
They have no idea supporting a team can be a Generation thing,
