My wife's boss went on a holiday to South Africa and for a couple of nights stayed in a hotel on the edge of one of the safari parks
They booked a walking tour into the safari park which literally was at the bottom of the grounds of the hotel
The guide who was taking them gave everyone strict instructions of what and what not to do once out of the gate. No talking, only walk when I wave my arm forward, stop when I raise my arm stuff like that. And most importantly under no circumstances do you run
So fully briefed off they trott down to the bottom of the grounds and out of the gate. They've gone no more than 20 yards in the tall grass when the guide raises his arm to indicate "stop "
The guide moves forward very slowly, and then even more slowly creeps back to the group and said "run"
Duncan says "you told us not to run"
The guide says "just fucking run"
So they did, back to the gate
It was a herd of elephants they were running from

I went to South Africa a while ago now, and went into a few game parks for a walk.

I'm glad I didn't have those game rangers escorting me.

We are animals. Should you choose, as an entitled rich fuck face, to go on (what you deem a holiday) to murder a fucking animal and you are trampled to death, it is beautiful poetry in all its glory. I hope it happens to every single person who does it with zero exceptions. Perhaps because you have apportioned more value to human life over other life you can't get on board with it. Another friend, when working in South Africa, drove into the Kruger NP. At one of the entrances, the reserve staff told him not to get out of his car, even if it broke down. Patrols were always about and they'd find him quickly if he did
They also said that a couple of weeks earlier a couple of German tourists decided to get out of their car to get closer to some wildlife to get better pictures
What they didn't see were the lions!

One thing I hate in this world is the way animals are used as objects to make money.
I was in Thailand and saw these 2 elephants, they had obviously been beaten into submission to conform, they were dry in 30degree full sunshine and yet fat horrible tourists were paying to ride them, you could literally see the misery in the animals face, probably 10 hours a day being made to do that.
I still think about those poor elephants.
