Did you travel with London SC then? I did too between 87/88. Remember someone called Tina organising it. Went to a few aways with them as well as some home games.

I remember Tina running London Branch, used to bump into their lot quite a bit late 80s. Some big drinkers among them I recall.
Used to see Neil from London home and away for years , not sure if he was with the branch tho.

I know I’ll get pelters for this, but it needs saying and calling out
PTB lost a lot of goodwill from many blues of my acquaintance, particularly those from non white backgrounds, when he was apparently filmed at home by the club a couple of years or so back with some horrendously fascist/NF/BNP type materials openly on display behind him. Very very disappointing, especially given he seemed to always wear a Roger Palmer badge

I’ve noticed this has been posted a few times over the past couple of weeks, so I feel it’s important to respond in a clear and respectful way.

Pete has been approached for filming projects many times before, and he consistently declines. That’s simply down to his personality—he’s not comfortable being filmed or put in that kind of situation. I always make a point of checking these things and explaining on his behalf that he isn’t interested.

On this particular occasion, I wasn’t around as I was away on holiday, so I wasn’t able to follow it up myself. However, I’ve known Pete for 25–30 years and have been to his flat many times. In all that time, I’ve never seen or heard anything that reflects what’s being suggested here. In today’s world, where images can be altered or manipulated using AI, I’m not saying that’s what has happened in this case—but I also can’t say that it hasn’t.

What I can say with certainty is that I’ve never seen any such poster or reference in Pete’s flat.

This thread has been brought back to share goodwill wishes. We’re talking about an 80-year-old man, with challenges, lying alone in hospital with three fractures in his pelvis, abroad.

As you said in your original post, apparently, unless you’ve been to the flat yourself and personally seen what you’re suggesting, I would ask that you reconsider and remove the post.

I’m not here to argue—just to share my perspective and ask for a bit of understanding and sensitivity in how this is being handled.

I can confirm that the club has never been to Pete’s flat in Leighton Buzzard, just outside Milton Keynes, where he lives alone in sheltered housing. Nor would they ever be interested in doing so.

He was approached on a match day and someone took his details, he would normally send them my way, but as I said, I wasn’t available and they never contacted me either as Pete requested.

Multiple, multiple people saw it, multiple black and mixed race inner city blues were offended by it, and it has been raised and discussed on many other platforms and discussed in the pubs and bars pre and post match locally
It has been the talk of matchgoing local fans for ages now. Most with the same deep, deep sense of disappointment as me
In fact, I thought it was an official club thing around lockdown, but maybe it might have been one of your videos, hence maybe the reason you are being so defensive?
Suggesting it was some form of AI Deepfake, however, is so insulting to everyone’s intelligence that it’s not worthy of a response. It’s Trumpian “fake news” insanity.
It was a video interview ffs and loads of people saw it. Loads. It is still being talked about
Coincidentally, all evidence of it has been taken down from the web. Which probably tells its own story and is its own explanation

As an old school blue I wish Pete well in his health.

Like I said I’m not here to argue the point but can only give my experience of Pete, which I didn’t think was defensive in anyway.

I’ve never produced a video with Pete in any form, so you are way off with that one.

@LongsightM13 The leaflet was a "Bring Our Troops Home" with a BNP logo on near his army regiment picture.

I doubt he knows what the BNP is, and it is obvious he isn't in great shape and probably the supporting the troops he was latching on too. That is it, one tiny poster, and you can infer from the way he presents himself he is prone to an aberration or accident, and is a vulnerable old man. I can understand why it pissed you off.
