You could combine the most astute political minds of the last century, genuine geniuses, put them all into a cabinet and give them 10 years and they wouldn’t stop the decline of the UK.

Unfortunately we’ve not got anywhere near that, we’ve got more imbeciles after 16 years of vindictive imbeciles.

And those waiting in the wings from the fringe are somehow even worse.

You could always paint a roundabout or stick a flag to a lamp post to be patriotic.

Other morons find time to do that and they don’t limit it to England’s national day.

Correct me if I’m wrong but I imagine our politics aren’t too dissimilar.

I agree this current government have been disappointing.

But, depressing as it is, they’re better than any of the realistic alternatives.

I’d much rather have Starmer as our PM than Badenoch, Polanski or Farage. When a real crisis comes, such as the Iran war and Trump’s bullshit, he’s made the right decisions. Though it’s a shame the Lib Dem’s haven’t got the sort of traction they deserve. I like Ed Davey.

Personally I’d like to see Andy Burnham and Andy Street lead Labour and the Tories into the next election. I’d be happy to see either of them win, they offer different directions but are both honest and reliable leadership material. Both successful mayors too, perhaps there is something in that.

Sadly I don’t see it happening on either side. Which is a shame because either of them would wipe the floor with dickheads like Farage and Polanski.

We're not "one of the few countries"...

Which countries do have a public holiday for its patron saint?
 
If they are better than any alternatives, we are truly beyond the tipping point.
I believe there are people of integrity in the commons, however once they start to yield power , and get nearer to the front benches , they morph into duplicity, refuse to speak up, say the right thing, join the club and are lost to democratic free speech.

Pretty sure that he was BlueMatt, who went through a breakup with his partner around Covid times. He struggled with his mental health and ran loads to try and keep him on the right path. I seem to remember that he used to work for Lancashire CCC.

Whatever his views, I hope he’s alright and finds a way through the dark times he’s feeling at the moment.
