All things Jack Grealish

No, but I know lots about alcoholism and how it is anything but a laughing matter. As for Jack, he will think he’s bulletproof at that age and with his fitness. He’s wrong.
Good, no one was laughing at alcoholism. In fact I've never heard anyone say alcoholism is a good thing.

Im glad you now the inner working of Jack's mind.

Amazing what people can come up with from a picture.

Another cool story though.

I know this is true due to a family connection. I also know that City jumped through hoops to help Jack. Those people, mostly rival fans, who have criticised City for what has happened to Jack are way off the mark.
Very skilful player and lovely soul but he has always loved a drink and that was not exactly a secret so I was and am still surprised we splashed £100m on him
Delighted he paid his part in the treble season at least he will always have that,
Sad to see him like this and hope he cleans up his act and makes everyone eat their words. First thing he needs to do is fuck those freeloading so called mates off - twats

If he is an alcoholic he won’t be the first footballer to be one. Look as Gazza now - he looks about 80. Grealish won’t be good looking Jack the lad for much longer if he carries on in this vain. In another ten years from now he will age by about 30 years and be a washed up loser. He can turn things around and be a top top man doing good in the world and helping people less fortunate. He has a caring side to his character but first and foremost he needs to take care of himself first, recognise the danger he is in and do something about it. I really hope he does.
Not sure Gazza was ever a good looking young lad......

It’s amazing how often something like this comes out after grealish does something that is seen as unprofessional.

He has one hell of a pr team but I still respect him for doing stuff like this. I’m sure he gets a lot from it too.

It is also true that no one has a bad word to say about Jack despite his issues. But he does have genuine problems. Whatever happens he was a key part of one of the greatest football teams ever. His star shone brightly for a while.
An old friend of mine who is close to Villa and has decent contacts there, said when we signed Jack
“A lovely fella but likes a drink - a lot of drinks” Said there’d been a good few incidents - mostly covered up.

Only a small portion of his idiotic, pathetic, drunken behaviour has made it into the public. It's so well known amongst people in the industry that he's become a laughing stock. A few years back when he had "niggles" when we were away at Fulham, he was actually dropped for turning up to training in an awful state. Lescott and the other presenters were taking the piss whenever the cameras weren't rolling.

Such an albatross of a signing. He should definitely seek help because he's headed down a really bad road. The problem with footballers at his level is that he's got so much money, who's going to tell him he's become a drunken bellend.

Could tell towards the end of last season that Sam Lee, on Let Me Talk, was becoming less and less bothered about letting it slip that Jack was being seduced by the demon drink. At first he was a bit coy, wondering how much he could and couldn't say publicly, but the more and more games Jack missed the more and more Sam revealed, about how Pep was feeling about Jack and what was going on behind the scenes (and in swanky bars all over Manchester).

I loved Jack at City and I think his performances across 2021-2024 were a lot better than a lot on here seem to believe, but you could tell he really lost Pep's trust towards the end - not for anything he did on the field, but because of his repeated failures to respond to attempts the club made to get his head right. Jack started to remind me a lot of Nasri, who reached the top of the mountain and then didn't look after his body enough to stop it failing him.

I follow Jack on socials and I remember, between January and May 2025, his weekly posting routine would be: Monday sauna picture, Tuesday training picture, Wednesday a picture of him watching football on the TV, Thursday blank, Friday training picture, Saturday a message to the City lads saying "Well done/unlucky/keep going" after not playing (again), Sunday blank, then back to the sauna pictures on Monday. He's in the same cycle now he's injured.

I thought he was really, really valuable at City and when he properly knuckled down and applied himself in 2023 he briefly became one of the very best wide players in the world. Otherwise he was still useful in a team that won (while Jack was here) three titles in a row (obviously four-in-a-row in total). But that burglary at his home and his worsening habits with the drink meant his body started failing him, and from the outside it seems he just gave up.

Even at Everton, the fans - who loved him at first and still love his passion on the pitch - were growing a little impatient with him. He got off to that fast start there (four assists in three games) but after that it was 4 G/A in 19 games. They hadn't turned on him, but I was reading their forums and the glowing reports about his early performances were starting to express a bit of doubt - his price has come down from £50m to £30m as well.

Think what irks everyone about Jack is the very obvious potential that's always there but has only really come to the fore for six months during the pandemic and then another six months on the run to the treble. Outside of that he was valuable to teams that won titles (either major at City or minor at Villa) but now he's no longer trusted by top teams and is only mostly useful to teams whose main ambitions are qualifying for the Conference League.

Some seriously weird reflection going on here. Folk calling him a player ‘that wins you games’?? Crikey. Folk actually thinking he might come back. Been bang average in a very average side this season. Why the fuck would anyone want that back at city. I’d take the first offer just to get him gone.
