Will we win the league this season? No

I expect arsenal to go six points clear on Saturday and then it’s crunch time for City at Everton, can see that being a draw then City beating Brentford on Saturday. Arsenal then have a crunch game against West Ham.
Bournemouth away is another big banana skin especially only a few days after the fa cup final, Villa at home won’t be a walk in the park either.

I think Arsenal are favourites, they could go to Palace with them also having a European final to balance. Arsenal won’t leave London for the May run in, that could be a real factor, also only West Ham will be super motivated.
At the Everton game I think it goes on if Pickford has a good game. If he doesn’t the match is ours for the easy taking,

Tonight's Atletico v Arsenal fixture will be significant. I haven't watched Atletico live, but I have the feeling that they have been fortunate to get this far. There is no point in trying to predict the outcome but a win for Atletico would be great for City.

I rather not have the 2games in hand over Arsenal at this stage of the Season.because of the handfuls of Games we’re got coming up plus the FA cup
Well the schedule's set now. Get everyone fit and firing during this break for one last blast.

Who’s the ex city player that at Atletico is it Alves if he Scores that will. Be the icing on the cake

I take your point, but title races rarely play out in a neat or predictable way - we've seen that often enough. I'm fully prepared for the less glamorous side of it, where Arsenal grind out results with a narrow 1–0, maybe from a contentious penalty or a scrappy set-piece. That's just the reality of how these run-ins can unfold.

Because of that, I'm not going to lose my head or overreact if things go that way. In my mind, it's about being realistic as well as hopeful - and the realistic view is that we may well find ourselves 6 points behind by the time we play Everton.

All we can do is stay composed, accept that the margins might not fall our way, and focus entirely on winning our own games. If we're going to be in this, it'll be because we've handled our business properly - not because we've relied on anything else going in our favour.
And with all that said, I still believe in this club. I back this team to rise to it, overturn the deficit, and find a way to win the title. We've been there and done it.
Yeah if it comes down to a shoot out on the final day I fancy our boys to do it. For now it's one game at a time and it starts next Monday at Everton.

I'd have thought a win for the Arse would be better, having them focus on the CL final as well as the PL?

I don't expect City an easy game but I do think that Doku and Cherki will create chances. I hope Nico's goal will encourage City to shoot on sight.
"Shoot on sight" is not a sensible gameplan for a Pep Guardiola team. That's for the lower leagues on their big day out. We shoot when the optimum chance is to score. You keep ballooning the ball around the goal or to the keeper and you gift back posession.

We need their confidence to be damaged by a defeat. Them being in a champions league final 2 weeks after the league finishes will have no significant bearing. Maybe a few will be trying to not get injured but I don't see that as big a factor as their heads going down and them losing more belief.

Atletico have done what you'd expect. Largely sat in and played on the counter. They don't have the same bite they once did and have been abysmal in the league.

Arsenal should beat them and make the final, which is probably preferable for us as it's another distraction.

Ideal situation tonight is a tough, physical battle that puts the 2nd leg on a knife edge.

Goals are the name of the game at the moment. Obviously priority is win all the games but if Arsenal were to win all their games 1-0 it is better for us to win all our games 2-1 or 3-2 (not for the ol’ tickers mind you) as goals scored will become an even wider gap.
If they win all theirs 1-0, mathematically we can't win all our games without being Champions. We're already up on GS.

After Southampton scored, we found the urge to shoot.

Not if Masters and the PL.have their way.

They want another Red Shirt Cartel club to win it.

Also, if Atletico are going out in the 2nd leg, hopefully they'll be true to themselves and kick Arsenal to fuck - they're historically bad losers.

They’ll be no chance of that Arsenal players will already be diving to the ground before an Atletico player gets near them

A certain mutual friend of ours keeps making the same point and I keep offering the same response

Three years ago it was almost the complete opposite with Arsenal probably wanting City to be too focused on the Real Madrid Semi Final and subsequently dropping silly points at Goodison Park and at home to Chelsea

Not only did we beat Real Madrid and Everton, but Arsenal imploded so spectacularly that we were PL Champions before we even played Chelsea

The final is after the league and if we get into the final it will build a lot of confidence
