Pep to leave at the end of the season

I just wonder why the rush to get the North Stand open for one game, why not wait until next season…
Rush? Wasn't it always planned to be open this season, in fact I'm sure the original plan would have seen it open earlier this year? So you could argue they've actually been dragging their feet!

The sooner they have the stand open, the sooner they can start making money from it. Simple as that.

Thats what I find weird why would Pep leave a freshly rebuilt team a year before his contract expires, only reason I could think is personal reasons.

Sam Lee now as well I know what some think of him but he's said he's heard that in March the word around the club was Pep was leaving
You lost me at this bit

My very, very strong preference is that Pep stays.

Failing that, I strongly prefer Enrique if he's available. Kompany - if he's available - 2nd choice.

looking at Enrique and Kompany there type of football wouldn’t work in premier for 38 league games plus all the cups champs league! Enrique will get a shock if he became a premier manager, mainly the other teams how they would set up as in just having 10 men sat in pen box

And welcome to the most ridiculous comment you will see today."

Unfortunately more and more smoke now and Pep just hasnt knocked the rumours down has he?
And by pure coincidence, that smoke you speak off only seems to appear after a good result or when we have a big game on the horizon. It's just that, at this stage of the season, every game is big as shit is getting serious.

But when asked over the last few weeks Pep could just have forcefully said he would be here next season and put it to bed?

It doesn't matter what he says, the "smoke" will continue regardless because of the swathe of bitter bastards both in the media and on social media who can't wait for Pep to leave, as he has single-handedly destroyed every single one of their childhood dreams.

Heard it from a friend, who heard it from a friend who (courtesy of Reo Speedwagon)

Seriously though I’m not a ITK more like a KFA ,but I thought I’d share this snippet.
My mates son teaches at St Bedes and he’s been informed Maresca’s
children have been registered for next term and that Pep is definitely leaving the end of this season.

I'm sure that you've posted this in good faith, but nobody is jeapordizing their career to pass on information about who is enrolled at a school like St Bedes. On top of that, information about that sort of stuff isn't available to every member of staff because ... why would it be? It would be a very small circle of people.

The Pep conspiracy theories are becoming as far fetched as the 115 ones. It seems everyone's got a source telling them that he's leaving, when in reality, outside of Pep, Manel, Khaldoon, and Soriano. Nobody in or around the club knows.

More importantly they're planning for next season with Pep. Every team related decision (and there's dozens of them to be made this time of year) is being made with Pep. For people who are into their 'soft signals', that's probably the most important one.

Last thing. The media know what a big story Pep leaving is and would be. If it was really so well known that Pep has made a decision to leave City, it would be the biggest fucking story since 115 and it would have been written by now. Instead the best you've got is Ornstein and his "sources at other premier league clubs believe that Guardiola could leave this summer".

Wouldn't Arteta be better interm ofthe match day thread count? He could complain like a champion and bring baller(ina) skills to the sidelines. Typical City would be reborn.

I still see as just smoke. Think Pep has said all he needs to. Not every rumour needs to or can be countered.

He has a contract. The presumption should be that he stays until it runs out, or is extended. Or he is sacked. Obviously, he can also agree to leave earlier, he is not held here. But that wouldn't be the go to expectation.

Ultimately, we have had this for at least 8 of the 10 years he has been here. At one point, it will turn out to be true. If that's this year, so be it. I don't think it is, but when it comes, the outcome and reaction will be the same. So I won't let it ruin the last 6 games of what still could turn out to be a spectacular season that all other clubs would dream of.

That may all be true, worth pointing out doogle as a poster is someone I'd take as genuine and this very much being in good faith. Whether or how true it might be in itself, obviously, which I guess is your point.

That's absolutely fine and as I said I'm sure he posted it in good faith. But nobody to my mind is risking their career and maybe even some sort of prosecution and legal consequences to pass on that the child of a high profile person has been enrolled at a private school. You don't even need to be a genius to get that. It's basically common sense. If caught that person wouldn't just be sacked, because we're dealing with minors, they'd probably struggle to get another job at a school of that level. It's clearly bullshit.

Tbf, I haven't actuallyseen a sigle 'claim' that there is belief he Will leave.

All i've seen is 'if he leaves this summer' maresca is high on the list of replacements. Or 'he will be allowed to decide if he sees out his contract or leaves thus summer'. Things that suggest he is leaving by being open to interpretation, but without actually saying it. So that there is no responsibility. So yea, as you rightly point out, the speculation is disproportionate to the actual impact of such a story if it had any real meat to it.

Pep just said he got home from Stockport/Port Vale on Tuesday night and watched the full 90 minutes of PSG/Bayern.

And I'm supposed to believe that this man is tired, done with managing at club level, and is ready to walk away from the best job he's ever had and a young squad he's only just begun to get bubbling. Haha.

If anything I'd argue watching that game will have stung him big time and he'd be even more determined to build a new team at City to compete on the biggest stage.

Spot on, it would feel like a strange time to leave the squad. I actually think a hypothetical domestic treble would spur him on even further, rather than the idea he’ll want to leave on a high.
