A disgraceful undermining of the Ticket Points system - again

I agree with that mate exactly same with me missed a fair few when kids we're little and running a business plus travelling a lot with mates who didn't have season tickets, so we just waited until tickets went to open sale went in to ticket office and bought em no points received, pretty easy when we were shite. Can't speak for every branch but you won't get one in our branch unless you travel regular to the crappy aways ie Bournemouth on a Tuesday. To keep up I went Platinum even though I didn't agree with it, did let me get the £125 one I wanted at 10am in 131 hopefully that's let somebody have one of the cheaper ones. Only gripe I have is OSC only gets it in the neck for the big games if there was a thread for semi final I missed it.
Your branch is admirable then.
Lots of reports of lots of OSC’s getting the numbers they requested.
Regardless of attendance at previous games, membership etc
Whilst I understand from the Clubs perspective, guaranteed sales.
I don’t agree with it.
And I’m a season ticket holder, from 1984, on the Cup Scheme, and a member of an OSC.
What I would say, and tin hat firmly on, is that when the OSC have had their full allocation previously, we’ve tended to have an old school atmosphere that I absolutely love.
Regardless, all I want is a full City end, passionate, loud and proud and cheering the boys on.
CITY, THE BEST TEAM IN THE LAND AND ALL THE WORLD.
That ones for you EB.
CTID

This. There’s a bigger enemy out there to direct questions at.
The OSC gets 20% of tickets for every game. We know that. Move on. It won’t change.
I don’t think anyone’s really arguing that on here though. It’s about fairness and people getting tickets without the required points for the final.

You say you don’t know the details yet you stated that anyone signed up to the 1894 singing section will get a ticket in there, regardless of whether they’re a season ticket holder or not. You basically thought anyone who had applied to go in that section could log on at 10am today and buy a ticket even if they didn’t qualify for a ticket, and instead of being disingenuous I pointed out that you’re utterly wrong on that.

Oh, and the reason why 1894 ringfences tickets in that area of the ground is because it’s the ideal place to do displays - it’s not practical to do a display up in Level 5. I don’t know how long you’ve been a City fan or how long you’ve been going to our games at Wembley but 1894 were organising singing sections on the front 10 or so rows of Level 1 in that stadium as far back as the 2017 FA Cup semi-final against Arsenal. I didn’t see you complaining back then about it.

Moreover, when all is said and done they’re still not the cheapest tickets in our end so I don’t know what your point is.

The principle is the same whether they log on at 10am on the first day or a few days later, the cheaper lower tier seats are still being reserved for people who wouldn't qualify for them in their own right (20k+ points & Cup Scheme). So yes, I was "utterly wrong" on the pedantic details, but not on the principle, which is the bit that actually matters.

And come on... If the front 10 rows were £125 and row 11 back was £80, you and I both know full well they would suddenly decide the middle or back of Level 1 would be the ideal place...

But if it is a choice between 90 minutes of louder support or flags as the team walk out then what do you think the players want to help them win a final?

They may have got as many tickets as they wanted but if the total for all OSC WAS 20% or less then you have your answer
There are 2 issues being convoluted here,
1- OSC's getting access to tickets for members for 20% of the total many ofwhom wouldn't usually qualify, annoying but always happened.

2- All OSC members who have been granted a ticket beeing given access to log in online at the very first window ahead of people who are on cup schemes and/or have thousands of points and being able to snap up all the cheap tickets before those who should rightfully have the chance. This element is new and absolutely stinks.

Yes exactly

This is a new issue as of today. Imagine this was a Champions league final with a lower allocation. There would be seasonticket holders paying £400+ or whatever it was in Istanbul because of this.

Each club got 28,500 tickets.

57,000 tickets in total.

Wembley’s capacity is 90,000.

So once again, the same question every season, where are the other 33,000 tickets going?

The lieing FA will tell us most are going to grass roots officials and people who support football, but that’s a load of bollocks. How many of those people who don’t support City or Chelsea will buy the tickets and traipse to Wembley to watch the match, hardly any. A large percentage of those tickets will end up on ticket touting websites. There’s your answer..
Corporate toff cunts that will pay more than what a bloke from Denton with a season ticket will pay.

Think Kevin Parker should make a statement as to how he has negotiated such a good deal for his supporters clubs but shitting on the huge chunks our our support, its a very poor look, you cannot sell platinum to fans, and mug them off with shite like this

As you say…if. Seems a remarkable coincidence that given it was a free for all, and the OSC has approx 20000 members, the sum total of requests from 400 branches acting independently was miraculously less than 5600 (20%).
Whatever the arithmetic, the fact remains that people with many years of loyalty following the club everywhere and committing to season tickets have far less choice/chance of tickets than for the previous 4 finals, whereas it seems anyone in the OSC could got first dibs, irrespective of any prior attendance. Which is wrong.
Just out of interest how much does it cost to join the OSC? Wouldn’t we all be better joining just for finals, rather than bother with the cost and inconvenience of cup schemes, platinum and attending games?

Blimey you've had a season ticket since 1977 and haven't managed 10k points
Didn’t loyalty points get introduced when we moved stadium? I know they gave you a dump of points for previous attendance but it’s entirely possible to be a very long term season ticket holder and not have 10k.

I lost all respect for Parker when he didn’t back our protest last season.

Despite the fact he’d just landed a potentially life changing gig with the club, Big Steve, for some of the stick he gets on here, came out and vocally backed us.

Was it only 20% this time though? Many posters have claimed their branches got as many tickets as they wanted.
You're right. Our Branch got every ticket requested and I'm talking about a lot. As I posted earlier I got my own. There are people in our club who we rarely see throughout the season but they got a ticket for this. Ridiculous.

Which is a problem in itself but this time they also had a priority window ahead of cup scheme on 15 - 20k points to select any seat they wanted.

It makes a mockery of our ticket point system, paying £50 extra a season for platinum for what?!

Going to Brentford at home in the carabao cup with 4 rows to myself on a wednesday night in December for what?!

They key here is requested, of course the OSCs will ask why wouldn't they, but why on this occasion have the club bent over backwards to accommodate it and also made sure they have access to the cheapest available?, is there something else going on here ?,are the club cosying up to a group of fans who might be able to fill their new stand if they get the buzz again by going to a final having only been to 2 - 3 other games this year. Wouldn't be surprised if OSCs are targeted as " anchor tenants " now the original plan of 1894 doing it hasn't happened

Then there will be people who have done the hard yards, possibly done the Semi final too and will miss out.
