To be honest can't see many UK branches where you could rock up pay a few quid not be seen again until 2 weeks before cup final and get a ticket for the final, you have to have a club membership as well minimum. Not saying it doesn't happen but I'll bet more people will attend on someone else's ticket. It’s utterly mental that someone who hasn’t been to a game all season, doesn’t have a season ticket, pays a few quid to join a supporters club and then gets first dabs at a cup final ticket ahead of the vast majority of people who are on the cup scheme.
How do you know what tickets were ring fenced for the group's I'm asking about .Because the main issue pissing people off is easy access to cheap tickets taking them away from people who deserve them. Despite those other groups also being wrong they weren't logging on this morning before anyone else and taking all the 50 quid tickets
I have collected 15.5k points since 2011!Blimey you've had a season ticket since 1977 and haven't managed 10k points
Thanks for that. I tried looking in a few blocks but tickets were being bought even as I was browsing so I had to act sharpish!537 I think
Lots didn't agree with how many people were buying away tickets just for the points & then selling them on. All this new stuff is rubbish but i do agree with stopping people just collecting the points. The points scheme should have carried on as it did (minus the platinum and gold bullshit) with points awarded for all away games.
As you say…if. Seems a remarkable coincidence that given it was a free for all, and the OSC has approx 20000 members, the sum total of requests from 400 branches acting independently was miraculously less than 5600 (20%).
Whatever the arithmetic, the fact remains that people with many years of loyalty following the club everywhere and committing to season tickets have far less choice/chance of tickets than for the previous 4 finals, whereas it seems anyone in the OSC could got first dibs, irrespective of any prior attendance. Which is wrong.
Just out of interest how much does it cost to join the OSC? Wouldn’t we all be better joining just for finals, rather than bother with the cost and inconvenience of cup schemes, platinum and attending games?
I joined the Leicester & Rugby branch in 1979 when living in Coventry. Moved to Sale in 1983 and was still a member of the branch until the late 80'show can a bloke be a member of the a34 supports club living in Rochdale get one ???

The newcomers were so far behind in 2011 they were not catching anyone. The lotalty point system died when they introduced platinum season tickets and let people buy points. Those who had supported city through the bad times were suddenly caught up by the plastic new-comers. Money talks and its the most important thing to the club.
i would agree with that, my sympathy has always been the ones who are victims of their age not support, the fact is anyone could have done aways when loyalty points were truly earnt as tickets were anywhere from 35 quid to 64 quid and City often took reduced allocations and places like Bolton and Wigan saw very small away followings considering the distance. It's not beyond the wit of man to introduce a rolling system as the present method is flawed, what happens to 18-25 year olds when they become 26 they fall off a cliff. It will never be perfect but it could be so so much better. The newcomers were so far behind in 2011 they were not catching anyone.
There was a 13 year start and those who actually went to aways all bought platinum and no one caught anyone.
It was the price of one away ticket, so those spending £5k a season on aways weren't put off by £50. The big blues who never went away used it as an excuse for having no points, but the damage was done before that.
Big Macs chippy?Going to Brentford at home in the carabao cup with 4 rows to myself on a wednesday night in December for what?!
I'm in the same boat. Season ticket since Maine Rd. Just under 10k points.Blimey you've had a season ticket since 1977 and haven't managed 10k points
