Ric’s info regarding Pep squares with what I heard a couple of weeks ago - I posted it on this thread on 17th April - from someone I know and who also posts on here. Like Ric, he has his sources within the club. The one thing he didn’t know at the time is who the replacement is going to be.

It was reported in 2024 that Soriano would leave in 2 years time to take up a new role in CFG. Think it was the Athletic. Would need to check that.

Pep’s constant leaving not leaving has been going on for ever it seems. I would rather he just come out and say it. We knew Bernie and stones were leaving before the club announced it. Maybe pep is waiting for the season to end? Why the noise now? He could just keep repeating iv got a contract. It don’t make any sense re timing.

Once the season is over he could say his goodbyes. Unless the club are trying to stage manage it and hope we get to the Villa game still with a chance to win the league? New pep stand open. It would finish his era with style. A lot has to happen between now and then tho.

Maresca wouldn't be my choice but I'm onboard with it 100%. He's a good manager who overachieved in a bad situation at Chelsea.

Yeah, I know that the ominous word gets used by the British media whenever we win or look like winning, but in the case of Pep leaving, I think ominous could maybe be used correctly

There's also this bit. I mean if he is going, and it's 100% decided and an open secret etc - he's really going out of his way to act like he's got a new lease on life. He talks about Laporte's quotes about City being the best club in the world, and Pep talks about how true that is. The working conditions are unrivalled.

Could be claimed he’s so relaxed now that his decision to go is made that he finds it easier to pull the wool over the eyes of the press pack, seems a stretch though.

Claims in the twittersphere now circulating that Maresca is in discussions with Fenerbache. First Napoli, then this, for a manager with one of the biggest jobs lined up and agreed for months, he gets about.

I've had a mad theory since the links started that the club are trying to find the moles who leak info!! Berrada was found out!! And not on the same level we use to get team news off Cole palmer a day before the game and that got stopped too.
