Purely on a hunch and what’s be said I think Pep will have one more crack at the champions league next season.
Claims in the twittersphere now circulating that Maresca is in discussions with Fenerbache. First Napoli, then this, for a manager with one of the biggest jobs lined up and agreed for months, he gets about.
Could of course be total bollocks. But then, so could the claims re us.
Fair response, and of all the things i've seen, that would be one I would be inclined to believe more than any other. If I was to believe any, which I don't, but I do leave room for.Based on what Ric posted.
We’ve not always seen eye to eye but he’s a top blue and someone I’d completely trust with giving information on.
That feels like you are looking for ways to justify wanting to believe the rumours.Could be claimed he’s so relaxed now that his decision to go is made that he finds it easier to pull the wool over the eyes of the press pack, seems a stretch though.
Strange take considering I ended it with “seems a stretch though”. I just don’t expect @Ric to post what he did unless he was 100%.That feels like you are looking for ways to justify wanting to believe the rumours.
Top journalist in Turkey so that adds more smoke
One of Fenerbahçe's presidential candidates met with Technical Director Enzo Maresca. Maresca said he will meet with Manchester City after Pep Guardiola and that he is waiting for that.
I think Maresca has reached a preliminary agreement with City for after Pep...
One thing’s for sure, all will be revealed soon! As I said in the other thread there’s zero way that City don’t know yet, the least of our internal expectations will have been a yes/no before now.Imo if you have reached an agreement like that, and he is as City through and through as some posters make out, you don't go out there speaking to other clubs or letting such links come out.
Possible that a few months ago the club would have sounded him out in case Pep leaves and that has now reached more people or is simply being echoed more. But the fact Maresca is reported as speaking to ither clubs suggests that eventuality of Pep possibly deciding to leave early, has gone nowhere.

I was just passing on what I was told, but have no way of verifying if it’s “100%”.Strange take considering I ended it with “seems a stretch though”. I just don’t expect @Ric to post what he did unless he was 100%.
Maybe, but I'd argue that no decision is a decision not to leave. Or that he has indeed made the decision and is staying. Hence Maresca looking for other jobs.Reading between the lines a bit, seems to be that Viana has made a contingency plan because there's a chance Pep could leave. That plan is Maresca. But so far it's not been activated which means that Pep hasn't made a decision.
Shades of grey. Ric said he has no reason not to believe the person who told him. I have no reason not to believe Ric. But I currently also don't believe Pep is leaving before his contract runs out, and I don't believe the speculation in the media. Nothing has to be 100%. One way or the other.Strange take considering I ended it with “seems a stretch though”. I just don’t expect @Ric to post what he did unless he was 100%.
You'd also think that if Maresca was as good as some on here have been starting to make out over the past few days, that if he wasn't already signed to City then he'd be having conversations about bigger jobs than Fenerbache. With all due respect to Fenerbache.Claims in the twittersphere now circulating that Maresca is in discussions with Fenerbache. Why is he talking about next season?
