A disgraceful undermining of the Ticket Points system - again

Let's stop blaming all and sundry for this and talk about solutions. My experience of Coty Matters was often that the club would come to us with a problem to which there was no perfect solution. We had to understand the risks and constraints and come up with what we saw as the least bad solution.

So here's your chance to experience what it was like to be round the table with City execs trying to solve a problem, knowing that whatever you did, some would be upset about it and give out abuse.

Let's assume the non-negotiable constraint here is that the OSC is guaranteed 20% of the tickets. How do we solve it so OSC members have a choice over price, branches can book coaches knowing they can fill them but we avoid the scenario of non -OSC points holders being unduly disadvantaged?
Easy. Make the OSC use the points system like everyone else.

I don't see why it has changed this time?! As far as I'm aware we've sold out for the FA Cup finals in the past. The argument for supporters clubs sitting together has been null and voided by the free-for-all of being able to choose any seat in our end and jump right to the front of the queue for ticket sales.

Perhaps supporters clubs should be given the 3rd cheapest category in blocks (as done previously) and be informed beforehand that is the category they're going to get. Those that meet the relevant current sales criteria can then make a more informed decision as to whether they get their own ticket or not.

Shouldn't the branch tell the no-shows they won't be getting them a ticket ?
I've explained this earlier in the thread. Please read my earlier posts. If a SC Branch applies for tickets and gets the full allocation how do you manage it ? Send tickets back ?
Get real - this is a problem made by City and SC Branches cannot reasonably be expected to manage the shit show which has ensued.

I was merely asking Bill keep you're wig on.
Presumably if a member has no previous history the supporters club could just say no?

I presume everyone moaning went to the semi.
Again .,..really
is that the only argument and yes i went .
If you go back a few pages this has been done
And yes I've already got a 50 quid ticket but who knows what happens next time.
But if I was still in the queue I'd be very annoyed
All we ask is for fairness and transparency.
Is that so difficult to understand or implement.

A simple solution which would have been fairer and more reflective would be allow supporters clubs their 20% but rather than let them access all tickets, allocate them pro rata all price categories of tickets so they equally get saddled with expensive tickets

I don’t think any member would have an issue either this.

In previous years members have applied, and then we have been advised a ticket request has been granted and told the cost and location of the ticket.

Personally I’ve just considered myself lucky to have one but I can understand why those with different financial positions or higher up the food chain of loyalty points might feel aggrieved (as they could probably have gotten a cheaper ticket individually).

For the record I don’t agree with how the allocations for finals are decided. However I would say the branch managers are acting for their members it’s on the club to say no we’re only allocating x amount of tickets to your branch based on previous sales etc.

I think the 2 tickets for away matches is reasonable as I think there has to be other ways than the same persons accessing the tickets every other weekend, otherwise the club loses engagement with fans and loses other sales such as for home matches and cup semi finals where supply exceeds demands.

Be plenty who have got a ticket through their supporters club that didn't go to the semi either so I don't get that thought process.

TBH it's not on for volunteer Branch officials to be put in that situation. (I'm not one BTW).
Maybe the OSC themselves could have refused these applications ?
This entire issue would not have arisen if City had applied a bit of common sense along with the application of their own T&C's. At the end of the day this has been a shit show by whoever signed it off.

Yea its another baseless argument.
The Cup scheme states what it states ,Im sure a lot of people didnt go to the earlier rounds but decided to go to the
Semi final ,which is fine but doesnt mean you get preference .

No I haven't. The 20% allocated to the OSC should be distributed according to points too.
If this was applied for all league games too then it would dismantle the charade we currently have which is the favoured branches ie Cheadle Bredbury Reddish Blackpool Didsbury London Heroes Of Waterloo etc getting huge amounts of tickets and other branches having to make do with 2.

Then guess what , when it’s time to re-elect the OSC committee, big numbers from those branches turn up and vote them in again with a show of hands.

They are simply voting to give tickets to themselves.

That’s how it used to work
