Everton (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

So if everyone had played 50 mins with 10 men do you think we’d have won?
Assume “everyone” is an autocorrect typo and you meant “Everton”… do I think we’d have won - debatable. On balance yes, more likely we’d have had too much, especially Doku down that side. But given the display down the other side, with Cherki anonymous and Semenyo no end product coupled with a backs-to-the-wall job from them - maybe not.

More likely yes but by no means a given and, while the reffing was a joke at times, not the main reason for the result.

Cherki was horrible and he isn't anywhere effective as De Bruyne. Haaland jogs about but gets serious when we go down which I don't understand. Some players dint play like the title was on the line. Errors are bound to happen.
On the bright side Foden looked up for it.

The linesman also cost us, his flag should have gone up for the offside, it wasn't a goalscoring chance and it always does and the ref waves play advantage. Seems a fucking massive coincidence why we are always the guinea pigs on these decisions.
They always play on these days where offsides are concerned. I hate it but the players know exactly what's going on - Guehi has just had a shocker there unfortunately.

Really hate Everton the game raising wankers.

Just like Spurs they do fuck all then raise their game against us then do fuck all for the rest of the season.
Spurs do at least keep the ball near the grass most of the time. Everton just lump it 80 yards and hope for throw ins, free kicks and opposition errors. Negative football at its worst.

We played shite but to put a bit of perspective on it the nervousness of certain players who have never been involved in a title race showed i thought. When you look at it Arsenal have been in this situation before and may get it over the line unfortunately but hey fuck it "we are Man City we never give in"

Doesn't work like that. You can sign the best players in the world, doesn't mean they'll fit in or adapt to the league straight away, you can't just go to Tesco and pick one up. This is just the usual knee-jerk reaction after a result that didn't go our way.
Well, I completely disagree with your opinion that it's impossible to sign top players good enough to make us better right away. Clubs do it all the time.

That final Doku goal could still prove to be pivotal - it's not over just yet West Ham will be desperate on Sunday.

A very disappointing second half from all defenders. They looked leggy and you could see with Nunes not attacking the ball just after the restart that they should have scored from that they were too passive.

I thought Nico G didn't take this opportunity and without Rodri we were all at sea - for the first goal we missed 3 tackles before the mistake.

Then we brought on Phil and Kovacic and both did nothing much. Watching Forest earlier there was a spell in the game when Anderson won four 50/50's each time playing a forward pass to set up an attack - we haven't got that - problem is they want stupid money but maybe with our squad we only need one key first teamer.

Kova is the better replacement
Kova was a disaster for his 20 mins tonight, including being bullied for the 3rd. Don’t think Gonzalez was bad today. We should have done better first half - for example I counted 4 times Nunes got to the byline and couldn’t put a decent cross in.
But pleased with the comeback.
By the way, how be many different explanations have been given for non red cards on our players?

Apart from Olivar getting in the way, he had a fair game
Our midfield, particularly in the second half, was DOGWANK.

Glad we got a draw

But those results weren't bottling it because it was us losing those points - is that right? Just so I can understand the difference...
Arsenal have a history of bottling it. We have a history of winning it. Hence the “Arsenal have a tendency to bottle it” is a perfectly accurate and reasonable statement. Advantage Arsenal but nothing’s won yet .
