I only ever see it go up late when a player has a goalscoring opportunity. Ive aeen it countless times go up immediatelyNot from what Ive seen this last couple of seasons.
The flag usually goes up late in most circumstances in most games.
Maybe its situations like this is the reason that the flag doesnt go up early as arguably if the player aint got the ball he aint involved in play???
