Will we win the league this season? No

The positives from this season are that we have improved miles on last year
Last year I don’t think we won any big games.
This team is evolving and will probably learn from this title race
We need to start seeing wins out a lot better. Dropped too many points with draws in Games we should have won

I think we need a quality right back, two centre midfielders and a winger

I have said for ages I dont think City will win the league and im surprised that its this close.
We are still rebuilding after properly the best ever City team.

Arsenal have been allowed to foul at will at corners, fuck me var was even looking at Bernie doing some holding just to rub it in.

We have been fucked over time and time again this season by var and refs. Arsenal should be playing without Gabriel, this will affect the final places. 100% Gabriel shouldn't be playing these 3 games.
Yesterday was a clear red card not given. Everton wete allowed to leave one on us at every tackle.

We arent good enough this season but the powers at be have made 100% sure we wont win it.

We've even improved a lot just compared to the start of the season. Someone posted last night, possibly in this thread, our domestic form once we got the shit season start out of the way (and I think it's fair to chalk that up to yet another absurd calendar with barely any rest). It's really quite good. It's a shame Bernie is off in the summer and we need Rodri to both commit to his future here and stay fit, because they're both so important to how we play, but we're shaping up very well for next season and beyond. Could do with Pep signing an extension though.

We need a mentality shift IMO. You won’t see many more one-sided 1st halves than that last night and in years gone by full time that would have been a comfortable 3 or 4 nil victory. However, we see this continued pattern of what appears to be us trying to protect leads, rather than going for the kill like we used to. We now play a style at 1-0, that we only used to employ when the game was well and truly won. How many games did we watch where we would be 3 or 4 to the good and at 70 mins onwards we would have 80%+ possession, stop attacking and conserve energy? It felt like almost every week. Now we are trying this from the 46th min, with the game still in the balance. Our captain is one of the main culprits. It’s crazy stuff and it continues to bite us on the arse.

This is squeaky bum time. In years gone by, more experienced teams than this one have struggled in these moments.

It's not done yet. Let's beat Brentford and see how Arsenal fare at West Ham.

I'm not getting my hopes up at all. Think they'll roll over West Ham quite comfortably.

They'd have taken this at the start of the season, to win these last 3 to be crowned champions

Looking back, only winning 1-0 at Burnley was a huge momentum shift after beating Arsenal a few days before.

We won’t win it this year but looks promising for next season with a tweak or two

Sky now desperately trying to play it that the title race is still on to attract viewers but we know deep down it’s over
Football is not fully knowable and any reasonable person will view the West Ham vs Arsenal game as a difficult fixture for Arsenal.

West ham are incredibly fragile at the moment and my only hope is they can somehow keep Arsenal out for the first half and then come into the game. Early Arsenal goal and west ham and their fans will quickly turn sour.

Blown it. This wasn't our hardest away trip to end the season.

I think it's rotten how we again got scheduled to play after Arsenal's game because it means all the pressure is on our end to match their result rather than put a marker down.

But we once again this season let a second half lead evaporate by sleepwalking.
Truth is we have not been very good this season at key moments and if they fuck up it will be some achievement winning a league. Last night was a sleepwalk which summed the season up perfectly but by waking up in time to finish the game like champions keeps the hope alive.

Two result predictions…..

West Ham 2 Arsenal 1

Palace 2 Arsenal 2

You heard it here first ;-)

We need to wallop Brentford though. Oh and then the small matter of Bournemouth away…

I honestly don’t believe that Arsenal are the issue. It’s us. Earlier in this thread, I said with 15 games to go, that if we won 13 of them including beating Arsenal we would win the league. We’ve played 11 PL games since then and dropped points in 4 of them (3 x relegation candidates and a turd Everton). That does not get the job done and that’s on us. So yes, we are in squeaky bum time but these days we seemingly struggle just as much as our very average competition.

We can beat Brentford at home, and Arsenal can draw at West Ham. It's unlikely but not outlandish. When we were looking at our remaining fixtures, West Ham away have always been Arsenal's most difficult looking fixture, whilst Everton and Bournemouth away were City's difficult fixtures.

We've now made it easier for Arsenal because the pressure is less than it would have been but it's still a hurdle that Arsenal have to pass. You should not give up hope yet. City will not be giving up yet.

Which is better for us? Arsenal lose tonight and then start to worry, or win and perhaps are too relaxed vs WHU.

It's done now.

Personally I think we will drop more points after watching that last night.

Arsenal will win it by 3 or 4 points.

The door was left ajar after our win against them the other week. The old City would have blown it wide open. This one isn't ready.

Perspective is needed here. Rewind back to the start of this season. I think most sane city fans would have been in agreement that this was always going to be a transitional season due to the influx of new players. If we'd had no sniff of the title this season, everyone would be claiming how much better we look all round compared to last term. However, because we have been tempted by that late run of good form getting us to within a whisker of challenging for that title, everyone will now be disappointed and looking for something or someone to blame if we don't quite get there.

Ironically it's the title of a city documentary that highlights one of the bad traits of top level football fan expectations. It's 'all or nothing' When in reality there are many shades of success in between. If we don't finish top, it doesn't mean we've achieved nothing

80 < 90 is True but City are evolving.
