Perspective / Hindsight

On for a cup double and still coming for the league 12 behind we was. Looking like Pep will see out his last year (he wants another stab at the champions league I have been told), A lot of negative waves on here I think it is what it is, team will be much more se settled next year, oh by the way we aren't out of this yet
I presume all sensible City fans feel the same as this. The season has beena damn good one for a transition season and you can see the future on the pitch already.

It only takes a last minute equaliser by any of their opponents against Arsenal to get it back in our hands. Chelsea in melt-down so a good opportunity to get another trophy. We should have won comfortable against Everton, fifteen minutes of panic cost us, but I think the lads will bounce back.

That said, I think Pep would want to go out on a high, so a domestic treble is hard to beat. Part of me thinks he would be more likely to stay if we don’t get the domestic treble.

It is what it is
Our defence is our achilles heel any other season we have this title sewn up .
Rodri makes the team tick and gives us a spine and leadership aswell as class . Without him we struggle.
Expected very little from this season and here we are with just a few games left and everything to play for .
I don’t expect Arsenal to slip up again with the PL fixtures they have .

Worth remembering we are very much in transition, Liverpool have for a combination of reasons fallen off a cliff, and we by rights should be nowhere near a title race if so many other clubs were not misfiring. The fact that we have gone from being lucky to have a CL place to pushing for the title is mainly due to the above and arsenal being a lot shitter than they generally get credit for.
What makes city so great is that this is what a 'shit season' now looks like - a cup or two and a top 2-3 finish. A far cry from a good season being 40 points by May, and I'm genuinely excited about this lot next season.

For me, the title race is over, Now it's about the FA Cup final and the 2 big home games to get the best possible starting 11 fresh and ready, We have won silverware this season already and I think that was our main aim. so possibly doubling it up with another cup will be a great ending to the season

I think we are growing into a very good outfit, so pre-season. We need everybody back fit and ready to go
We need a flying start next season and make a statement to the others that we mean business

Also, for me, when we sort out all the players that are leaving, we must build a better-balanced squad with more youth players as squad players and more firepower

Said right from the start of the season we should be looking at 80-85 points this season with a squad in transition, the only reason that was ever going to be enough to win it was if arsenal didn't do what they and their squad was expected to do.they still might not. I've seen enough from this squad to think a couple of the right additions and we will be the team to beat next year, looking forward to ssing whats tp come.

I'm happy with second + cup(s maybe) with the reasons/context mentioned above but if Arsenal were a good team then I'd be a lot happier. But the fact they are not out of sight winners and that we've beaten them twice relatively comfortably feels a bit like a unexpected chance for a title

It is when you think we lost Rodri, Dias and Gvardiol for large parts of the season , take gabriel , rice and saliba out of arselona and see how theyd manage

Unfortunately Ancoats we have a stupidly expanded WC that's gonna screw over next preseason for us - luckily it'll screw most other top sides too.
I'm expecting things to be tough early season, but time will tell

Strange that Dias could be 4th choice next year? Not fair to keep playing a high line only to expose his only major shortcoming.

We've had a number of injuries this season which could have made a big difference.

We just need to patch things up to avoid the poor spells in games and to bag the points when we're in winning positions.

Last night Haaland, Bernardo and as a squad player Doku were the only starters who have seen us over the line before. Nunes barely played when we last won the title. The rest are all new to it.

Let's go and win our remaining games, bag the FA Cup and put down a marker for next season. Two domestic trophies is a great season considering the players that have left the club recently, the injuries and the number of new players learning our methods.

Hopefully the club recruits well this summer and we get off to a good start. I know we usually finish strong, but it feels like a year where we prioritise the league and make sure we're ahead and stay there.

At the start of the season i would have taken a cup win possibly another and 2nd in the league,If anyone thinks otherwise they were being unrealistic,
Next season if we can buy a top class midfielder and right hand side player Semenyo and Savinho are not it i think we piss it.

Looking at the World Cup, most of our players will not make the final stages. Cherki with France will be the only one having a late pre-season
