Pep to leave at the end of the season

There is business still to be done. Everything and everyone needs to focussed. There would be no point him announcing anything at this point.

Well if he`s staying it would surely be a boost? Obviously maybe the players know he is so business as usual but its Pep thats is getting frustrated at being asked all the time when he could just answer the question either way?

To what end?

I am absolutely ok with him and the club not getting drawn into feeling like they need to address every rumour. Slippery slope that, as the time you then don't refute a rumour, it can look like it is true. Whereas if you don't respond to any of them, then there can be no expectation.

Remember a few years ago itnwas almost taken for granted he would go and speculation was that he would for sure leave. The club and Pep let it go on for a while, then dropped that short 'you wont get rid of me yet' video followed by the extension announcement. And that was with his contract actually set to expire.

Right now he still has a year left. The default is, he stays. He is not saying anything to suggest otherwise, on fact he has openly talked about next season. Really don't think anything more is needed beyond that.

Pep will go out on a high, it won't be a high without the league title. he's also easily got another CL in him to eliminate any 1 off arguments.

As some of the former players have spoken about recently, Unlike those who sometimes thinks the grass might be greener elsewhere, Pep knows how good he has it here, there is no drama, no behind the scenes hassle or conflict, it's just do your job and don't worry about anything else, that's the most enticing thing for him staying every year, nowhere else gives the same guarantee and I think that's the side of the game he really doesn't want to be involved in, it's ultimately why he left Barca.

We cant there just be a definitive statement that he is staying or going? He gets pissed off with the media asking the question but besides the i have a contract comment, still doesnt just say 110% i will be here next season?

Because our owner leaves all the pr to Pep or they don’t even know what’s he is doing

Hopefully mate, i just dont see why he has to wait until the end of the season but like you say, another year left anyway

I think he is needed for another year but personally I think he will decide to go at the end of this season and it will be announced before the Villa game.

Fully understand if Pep if off this summer and maybe the time is right to refresh with a different approach and play a game getting the best out of Haaland.
But Enzo Maresca?
Seems as massive downgrade and risk!

Maresca would be hugely underwhelming after Pep, but any manager coming in after him is on a hiding to nothing. I'd hope that if/when Arsenal win the league then Pep would want to stay for his final season.

I honestly reckon it’s a simple as him wanting to go out having won the league, I don’t think he’ll stay any longer than his 1 extra year if he does stay/ we don’t win the league this season

"Hopefully he can help us in the last part of the season, have a good World Cup with Croatia, then next season we can have him again."

if guardiola is leaving why would say the last part of that sentence about gvardiol in today's press conference?

Yes I was just about to post this. He spoke next season with Gvardiol with no hesitation or tongue in cheek. Surely he’s staying, I understand he wouldn’t just announce it for the sake of the season but he wouldn’t talk so much about the group and players ‘growing up’ if he wasn’t here.

He'll certainly stay next season. Even if he wanted to go, the club would be persuading him to stay. This summer would be an horrific time to lose him, with the WC eating into any ability for a thorough pre-season. Next summer would make more sense purely to allow a new manager time to come in and work with the players for as long as possible before the season starts.

I reckon if we step up again next season and hopefully win even more he could feel inclined to keep going with us. I'm sure he would love to win another CL title with us and leave us at the peak of our powers.

I like you Richards30, you strike me as a decent person and a good Blue, but you are a little bit needy, always desperate for transfers to be completed, Pep to announce immediately etc, just relax a bit, mate
