It's been a dreadful season for boring anti football. I've not quite seen it this bad ever. Less ball in play, lots of time wasting, leaning, grabbing, argy bargy bollocks.

Stoke, Bolton and the Wimbledon of old had their detractors, but I found them all to be entertaining in their own right. This season has been absolutely fucking awful.

I think the difference between the era of Stoke, Bolton etc was they were doing what they could with limited means and they did it (largely) fairly. It wasn't shithousery or trying to bend the rules at any opportunity, It was just old fashioned basic rough 'em up football that got under the skin of others, not least Arsenal and saw unfancied teams overachieve.

This season, we are seeing billion pound squads refusing to play football and instead are looking for snide little ways to gain an unfair advantage using every trick in the book to ruin the entertainment factor.

We call Arsenal the billion pound Stoke but they're nothing like Stoke. Stoke had honesty and integrity in their basic football, Arsenal do not.

An easy decision for the officials to give and the length of time can only be for all the other holding going on around it. Rice looked to have a good hold of someone on another day is a penalty
