You are right. Putin has created a monster of war (Ukraine with their drone warfare) that even a military superpower like Russia cannot subdue.

Putin has to be a little bit gutted that they didn't attack years before drones became a cheap and easy option. But they were held back by holding the World Cup in 2018 and then COVID.

We're fortunate that they are the ones learning the lesson in a negative way. But they are learning to use drones in a way that is ahead of most of NATO imo. So the longer they're tied up by Ukraine the better really so we can catch up with this new type of warfare or maybe even develop effective counter measures.
