Elliot Anderson | Opening bid rejected (p189)

I don't think you get him for 65m I think it will be 80m and I still think that will be a bargain for you.

Rumour there was a buyout looks MGW had that is if your not in Europe and the team wanting to buy him was in champs league! Think 80m is just about right

I hope we get him. Think he'd be a great player and help us minimize Bernardos leaving. He's clearly not as technical as bernardo but is busy and a good enough player to fill that role.

He's English and he's a tremendous player AND competitor. So yeah, I'd be thrilled to get him for £80 million.

I think he can be a midfield enforcer similar to Fernandinho but he isn't the most exceptional player out there, so anything above 60m would be paying for much, even if we are clearing out the wage bills by moving on some players. The transfer market is inflated now and I feel like Rico can do a similar job in the midfield

Lewis has great technique in close spaces but has often exhibited a lack of stamina, particularly when games are expansive and he has to shuttle between boxes. It’s difficult to see how a paltry 1,015 minutes and only 8 full games this season is going to rectify that issue.

If we want to compete on multiple fronts again, we desperately need running power in midfield, and pinning our hopes on Anderson alone will not suffice.
