82 | Rico Lewis - 2025/26

That side of it he should have been fine, kickboxing etc with his dad, but for some reason he doesn't seem to have got stronger ?
I think kickboxing is more about Stamina and timing strikes, not exactly the type of strength required for football. Kickboxing might actually have an adverse effect on his football performance

Sadly I think he will be sold. We need a proper RB and he isn't good enough as a sub. Make weight for anderson or someone else to sweeten a deal

Gone in the summer, surely. Hasn't even made a bench in over a month, hasn't played since Salford over 2 months ago.

I think there's a better chance Max Alleyne plays RB against Southampton than Lewis.

Considering how Nunes is playing as a 3rd CB at times, Alleyne makes the most sense.

And since Foden and Reijnders need the "midfield" minutes Lewis won't play.

He should be sold in the best interest for all next season imo.

well, as we moved on from RB playing inverted FB if anything Nunes invers to RCB more like, and Bernardo drops deep instead to bring the ball out, while we have Cherki, Reijnders, Kova, Foden all in the midfield options if needed, the minutes for Lewis are very limited and will be very limited next season too.

especially as I think we will be in the market for a RB anyway.

Small players need 3 things to be considered useful to most teams: pace, stamina and aggression, In the case of Pep, a fourth criteria is required = Intelligence.

A small player can loose one out of 4 and still be useful, for example, Bernie has lost his pace but still has stamina aggression, and Intelligence (when he's not loosing his head).Lahm and Kimmich never had pace but had a lot of intelligence, physicality and stamina and Pep wanted that in his Bayern team. Rico on the other hand has intelligence but lacks most if not all of the other 3, he needs to go on a personal training routine to improve these things, I still like him as he is a very intelligent player but he has to realize that something is off and strive to improve these areas.

If he does move on, i feel their should be a plaque put up for him.
It should read "Pep, Rico Lewis isn't a right back"...! :p

He's a great player. Maybe not "elite", but great none the less. Assuming he does move on, i can only hope the best for him. I feel he will carry on having a great career wherever he plays. (just not right back!)

Noticed he’s not even in the matchday squad today. How long has that been happening for? Am I late to the party. Seems Pep has accepted he won’t be staying around next season. Seems to me he will be gone. Sad to see. Clearly has a lot of talent.
